The problem I am having is to find a rear sprocket vendor that can supply a smaller than 38 tooth while staying with the 530 chain.  Any experience with that?

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the input.  I told the local supplier that the HF-401 was not correct.  I told him the HF-126 was correct.  He said he would forward the need for correction to HiFlo.

    Note on the gasket also.

    Thanks.

I needed replacement intake air ducts, because I had one good intake duct and one off of something else.  As I’m sure the rest of you 750 people know, the ducts are very hard to come by.  Frankly, I wasn’t all that pleased with the design anyway, so I stopped hunting for one and came up with my own.

Here’s what I used:  Rack and pinion bellows for a Prizm.  You can buy them right online from O’Reilly….

    MOOG – R/P BELLOWS (93-83 LEXUS/TOYOTA)
    Item No: K9321

$26.99 per Box (at this writing)

Bought two new ones and cut them to fit.  Works great.  Has some give, so it will handle the vibration.  Much easier to connect to the carbs, and seals better than the originals I think, too.  I haven’t put the carb clamps on yet because I don’t have any.  I’m working on that next but it’s such a nice snug fit I almost don’t think it’s necessary.  It’s automotive grade rubber so it should be okay with the heat.

Did all the work on it while the air box was still in the frame too which was no small feat I might add.  Still retained all the original components (except the ducts).

Here’s a shot of the business end.

Here’s a shot showing the bellows are actually sandwiched in between the clamps.  The seal is impervious to water.  All the air must pass through the air box opening and the filter.

I did this on my 1982 CSR and it worked great.  It is available at automotive part stores.

Hello Iowa.  I am in Colorado and have 3 KZ’s.  One for parts.  I think I remember seeing your’s on Craigslist some time back. Good looking boy.  I had my first KZ Twin back in Minnesota in the 70’s.  I never lost my love for them.  Hope you enjoy your KZ journey.

EBAY seems to have a source for these.  Has anyone tried that cable source?

Air box rubbers for my 1981 CSR.   All this chatter back in 2016 leads me to believe that there may be a supply for my bike .   Can anyone help me with that ?

Welcome to the side and I’m glad you found something you can work with I hope you have a ton of fun with it.  I am a newbie on the site also and look forward to  working with fellow KZ750 twin owners.

Further investigation reveals that the CSR is a 1981 and the beast Siri’s bike is actually a B2 and not a B4.   The B2 looks like it has a very healthy engine .   Is there much of a market out there for at B2 Vintage motor?  Or for that matter a B2 frame with wheels?

Thanks for the input .   After additional carburetor cleaning and changing carburetor jets and spark plugs it is running immediately on both cylinders and now only has a hesitation at about 3000 RPM .   Otherwise it seems to be running very well .

The B4 will act as a donor for the K1.  The only worry I have at this point is the use of the wiring harness from the B4 to be used on the K1.  The K1 was butchered to be made into a bobber.  I want to bring back to stock, but not until next fall.  I will be making the CSR my ride for next season which is well on it’s way already.  Maybe a tank and side cover repaint, rebuild front forks, new tires, seat recover, among other things.  I will likely sell off parts from the B4 including engine.
