Hi guys,
I will get a new fuel cap welded into this tank, so don’t need the mentioned cap anymore.
Got a pair of chinese KOSO PWK 34mm flat slide carbs and larger intake boots to mount them. Fits quite well and I will see if this small engine will take “food” from these large carbs 😉
Still a lot to do 😉
BTW: These two carbs weight is 900…[Read more]

Well, little progress made. This bike gets upswept exhausts as well as the “Vienna” has it.
Looking for a rare fuel cap of this tank:

Hi Lonesome Twins,
as the GPZ305 ended her race career after just one track event
http://www.lonesometwin.com/forums/topic/michaels-gpz-ex-305-rebuilt-to-race/#post-25241
I had to look after a replacement in the class below 55HP 😉
It will not replace my “Vienna”, the Z750Twin race bike.I’ve found a massive modified Z440 and some of the mods…[Read more]

there is Peter in Germany who is making down tubes from stainless steel.
They can have different angles and diameters at the rear end to match your desired silencers.
They do not have an interference/connector tube from left to right.Let me know if you are interested.

Well, I didn’t manage to fit the tuning engine into my racetwin by now, so I will do it this winter.
Had the last track days last week and besides the GPZ 305 I rode my “Vienna”:
Me on Kawa Z750Twin, #676 and my son Nils on Suzi SV650S, #650
I’m behind my son, ready to overtake him and the driver in front of him at the inside 😉

Hi Lonesome Twins,
I had some fun on the track with this little GPZ. The girlfriend of my son loves this bike and she wants to make her bike driving license until spring 2020. So this will be her first bike and we will modify it to be roadlegal again.
Here some pics:

Hi Lonesome Twins,
as I can’t start a thread in any other forum I do it here 😉
Sure some of you know me and I’ve introduced some of my Z750Twins already. This time I just want to show you what I’ve did in the past two months.
A friend of mine wanted to modify a 1983 GPZ305, also known as EX305.
He lost the momentum and wanted to get rid of it,…[Read more] -

Hi Bob,
nice little Kawasaki you have !
I would like to attend the DGR, but that Sunday is the last day to prepare three bikes – to have fun on a racetrack the days after.
Wishing you and the Gentlemen and Gentlewomen all over the world a great day and many/much (?) donation(s) for a good purpose !
Cheers, Michael

Hi TJ,
Glemseck 101 2019 is this weekend !
I’ve answered your question in regards to the Ignitech on the german http://www.z750twin.de website 😉
If you need individual downtubes in stainless steel, one of our german members, Peter (ausreiter) is producing them on individual basis. Price is very reasonable with around 200,- Euros (plus p&p) for…[Read more]

As I am working on an engine upgrade with 906 ccm and didn’t finished it since 5 years now, a lucky moment happened at the “Built not bought”. The seller of my big-bore-kit was present and offered me his engine with 906 ccm, a lot of modifications and at least 2000 km used on the road !

Hi Kon,
thank you !
I’ve startet just 1,5 years ago, ok, close to 2 years now, to race on a track. Most instances were training, only a few races until now.
As an experienced motorbike rider I said, that I can find the ideal line on the track myself and will learn proper riding by watching and copying other riders. Both is wrong. I would highly…[Read more]

Hi Kon,
I own several of the Z750Twins (Bs and LTDs), some other bikes (Z1100ST, FZR1000EXUP, Z750E, RD80LC1).
My spouse has an LTD and just sold her YZF600R “Thundercat” and has a Suzuki SV650S as her second bike now.
My 20 yo son is riding a KTM RC125 on the road and a special built Aprilia AF1 (ex 125ccm, 2 stroke) but with a 650ccm, 4-stroke…[Read more] -

Michael replied to the topic How tight is too tight? in the forum How To Fix It 4 years, 10 months ago
Hi Patrick,
if that bolt is a 12mm one as used in B3 and later engines (G, M, S, Y, K models), the value is correct (130 Nm).
If the bolt is a 10mm one as used in the B1 and B2 engines only, the value is 75 Nm !
Cheers, Michael
PS: Use a little bit of Loctite medium (not the strong one!) on the thread.

Hi Marko,
thank you for the pics and good memories.
Every few years I am doing the Sella ronda.
Parts of it are in your tour, Arabba is one.I’ve heard that there are some limitations for motorbikes on that Sella ronda.
(Passo Sella, Passo Pordoi, Passo Campolongo and Passo Gardena)
Have you found a sign describing that ?Cheers, Michael

Hi Lonesomes,
there are some videos available that shows the track “Spreewaldring” and the event “Built not bought”.
First video is a training session on a Laverda 1000, 3 cylinder. The driver uses about the same rev range and shifting points as I use them. Feels like I am on the track 😉

We had a lot of fun:
Peter participated in the training sessions as well:
Finally I’ve lost the “fight” against a Triumph Thunderbird Sport 1200, but that was pure action 😉
