By way of explanation, I am entitled to wear the Clan Crawford tartan. My maternal Grandmother was a Crawford [ born in Scotland ] and if you go far enough back in history Margaret Crawford married [ 1297 ] 
a certain Sir John Wallace – and their son was ………………. you guessed it – Mel Gibson.
