Just a couple of pics of my 440 bobber which is currently having the carbs fettled. I have a few things I intend to do to this bike before I will deem it as finished such as whitewall tyres, painted wheels, exhaust wrap etc. 🙂

It’s not far off being spot on so I’m happy about that as it ran awful with the standard carbs. It’s a mikuni vm34 if anyone’s interested. 35 pilot and 170 main. Im gonna try the next size down on the main and see how it runs.
If the links don’t work for the pics I apologise in advance!

how did you manage to get the 1-in-2 manifold?
Cheers, Michael19th August 2013 at 9:49 pm #9349KaptainkwakKeymasterSaw this little baby for the first time tonight. He has finally got her running pretty sweet with the single carb. I took her for a run round the block (well a tadge more lol) and it was such fun. Ive ridden a standard 440 before and this one seemed to perform much better. I am now getting inspired to do my 750 bobber and might even go hard tail 😀
Cheers mate

He got the manifold with the bike when he bought it. It is a great idea and I hope to do the same style with my bobber. I am looking into getting a manifold made. I will keep you all posted.

Bike is running much better now, had a few issues with the idle running away with itself. Turns out the slide isn’t returning by a fraction which is causing the issue. Not really touched the bike the last few months but the recent weather has enabled me to start tinkering again.
Hopefully by Monday I’ll have got the jetting better although it’s running pretty sweet now.
I got the 2-1 manifold with the bike although making one would be relatively simple provided you have a bit of knowledge with welding and patience. They can also be made with PVC or copper piping.
This bike has caused me plenty of headaches but it’s getting there now. Only had it a year lol
18th May 2014 at 9:34 am #9357Bolton440ParticipantWell after a few months of messing about trying to get it running right I’ve finally cracked it.
Put a leaner needle jet in and it’s cured the richness and bogging at 1/8th throttle. Idle is sweet and it pulls well through all the rev range now. It’s only took me a year lol.
18th May 2014 at 5:28 pm #9351KaptainkwakKeymasterMy God man. Thought you’d done a moonlight. I’m glad she s now running well for you. It’s been a bit of a grind but at least your there now. We will have to organise a ride somewhere but it will have to be after Belgium I think.
