Hi guys,
I have found a set of Bs downtubes and at a bike discounter the silencers as a “special offer”. They don’t have any TÃœV document but are supposed to be accepted by german TÃœV.
There are reduction kits delivered with the silencers, which can be used as “one slides into the other”. Set was included but is for sale also separately:
https://www.louis.de/katalog/suche?search_term=reduzierh%C3%BClsen&searchButton=&page=1&main_category_id=420
The large one slips over the downtubes easily and stuff is still loose (see photos, especially pic number 4), together with the “middle” one it does not fit the diameter of the downtubes anymore and can not be fitted.
Any idea how to handle this for a stiff mechanical connection which is air-tight as well ?
Any comments highly appreciated 😉
Cheers, Michael
We use those adaptor sleeves over here with no problems. The staggered cut reduces loss of gases as well as noise but does not give a 100% seal.
I have a very good condition pair of CSR silencers which have been cut from the down pipes. Would you wish to swap?
Hi KK,
I have received a link to “massive” reduction sleeves:
Think that is the way to go:
Measuring correct diameters, get the matching sleeves, weld one end to the downtubes and “clamp” the silencers to the other end.
… and No, I don’t want to swap silencers 😉
These are the short ones (46 cm) that I have ordered at a special price:

They are available in a longer version as well (67 cm):
