On a recent ride I noted that the bike was sounding noisier. The engine is a sweet as a nut so not that!
Chain was marginally slack but not by that much.
It transpires that the side stand is loose due to wear – when extended it is not a problem as the spring tensions it, but, when retracted the tension is gone and the stand rattles and vibrates.
There is no danger of it coming off – I removed and greased it today.
Anyone know a quick fix?
Mine is lightly tensioned when folded up. You could try to bend the hooks a bit more on the spring. This would effectively make the spring a bit shorter
Hang on a mo. Yours is a B model isn’t it. If I am correct the side stand rested on the original silencer so if you have aftermarket exhausts then this might not have the resting spot. A shorter spring or a bracket would be needed
