    Some chains do have thicker and deeper side plates(Chain still has same pitch and inside width)which way account for it not that I have had that problem yet on standard gearing.
    It’s some chain for a 50hp bike! Same as on a 180hp 180mph Yamaha R1.
    Interesting point Michael made about aluminium to reduce vibration, Mine seems to have vibration at times which I put down to the tension of that massive chain!
    We seem to have hijacked this thread, I still want to store my bike in his conservatory 😉

    It needs that size chain with the torque produced.

    When you compare the twins stats with the Z900 there is nothing between them up to 70mph
