I’m using the very same Grimeca 4LS brake / hub. Me and my pal bought the last 2 imported to the UK before production ceased. I just heard through the grapevine that they are back in production.
Mine is laced into a Borrani rim with stainless spokes. I’m just in the process of sorting out the spindles and spacers

MOAB …… why thank you kindly sir.
Most of my projects were commercial. IE – I designed, developed and manufactured a range of replica sports cars [ and speciality one offs ]which were sold to the general public – and also successfully raced.
I had a 1 million pound product liability insurance and I’m proud to say that in over 40 years in…[Read more]

Lonesome – I’ve been blessed / cursed by having an extremely imaginitive and fertile brain – and a “what if” attitude all my life.
That has taken me on many occasions into uncharted territory !! Mostly with a successful outcome, but with a few lemons along the way.
Ill health and lack of finances have dogged me in recent years – but that’s just…[Read more]

Just had another mock up of the blower, this time with the outlet facing the rear. The breather can definitely has to go, otherwise packaging looks good.
I think the time has come to pull the trigger on this one ………

I have the ideal tank Michael. We used them on my Porsche 550 Spyder replicas – and I still have one in my garage !
Thin wall spun alloy – ideal capacity – 1 ltr.
Thanx for your continued interest and input.

That’s the info I was hoping for Michael !
Yes – blank off + two threaded pipes ( or simply clamped ) off to a remote collector

Looks like the blower will have to be rotated 180 degrees. That will place the outlet at the rear. Works OK as it can feed direct into an intercooler situated where the airbox normally lives, then a connector pipe over the top into a cylindrical inlet log. That allows more packaging space and will form a restrictor plenum to help with…[Read more]

Thanx for that KK. I’ll check clearances against the blower this week.

Still learning !
Nearly all my experience has been with car engines 4cyl and ( mostly ) V8. Just 2 blown Triumph drag bikes.
All with crude (relatively) fuel injection or carbs. All have been suck through.
Time scale ????? At 3 score and 12, it has to be sooner rather than later !
Having been involved with the design, development and…[Read more]

MOAB – yes I got the blown bit – that catch phrase was a bumper sticker that was around in the ’80’s that those of us of the blower brigade used!
In the ’60’s I was part sponsored by Allan Allard [ Shorrock superchargers ] after I whupped his Anglia Drag Car [ 2 litre blown / methanol ] with my 1300 [Blown / petrol ] Renault Gordini!
That was…[Read more]

Re: exhaust cam mod – more lift on a blown engine is good !
Oil cooler mod looks like a step beyond, as all fab / machine work will have to be farmed out.
KK, sorry to be a PITA, measurement to top curve of frame loop level (‘ish) with head please ? I can angle the blower location…[Read more]

More queries for you guys.
Does anyone know what the thread is for the oil pressure switch ? I’ll be fitting a gauge.
Swept back exhaust pipes? – a la 60’s Triumph, Norton, etc.
Spare exhaust camshaft ?
Anyone fitted an oil cooler ?

Couldn’t wait until the weekend ! Rough mock up today proves it is a viable conversion.
I need a measurement please folks – face of intake manifold to head to the nearest point of interference with the rear frame loops. That will let me know if the frame needs massaging or not !
Quite a bit of fabbing / machining will be required, but it’s all…[Read more]

Something along these lines [ minus 2 cylinders obviously! ] will get the job done. Now you can see why I need to move the ignition !
I’ll check the Blower for “pakaging” at the weekend. The rear frame loops might need a tweak [ or more ] to clear.
I have the visual in my mind now, and it looks pretty do-able.
Just need to get my hands on a…[Read more]

Ali rimmed wire spoked front wheels available ? Also need a good exhaust camshaft.
I found where I’d put the 2″ and 1 3/4″ SU carbs for safe keeping. That’s a bit more to add to the pile of bits !
I’ll need a matching rear hub to fit an oversize rim to take the size of tyre I’ll need to run.
UK company Dyna make a suitable ignition system, but…[Read more]

KK made me do it !!!!!!!!!!!!
Eaton supercharger arrived today.
I’ll do a mock up on my Flat Tracker engine at the weekend, just as a P.O.C.
Hmmmm – where did I put those Nitrous Oxide foggers and solenoids ??
