ParticipantThanks fellas. Like the ol’Twins, I’ll never die… and I hope the same for you and yours… Or wait, then you’d all be vampires or something. Scratch that.
I got a 2017 Thruxton last month. The wife said, in order to get the new bike, I had to sell one of my old bikes. So the 2011 Thruxton went up for sale. A few days into the sale, the wife says something like, “…I didn’t want you to sell the Thruxton… I *thought* you’d sell one of the *old* bikes (meaning one or both of my KZ750s)..” Anyway, I explained that I’m more of a caretaker of a historical piece and its record, and must own them to the grave. She grumbled, but understood. Now I have to KZ750s and two Thruxtons. 😉 And an amazingly understanding wife. 😀

ParticipantIf it were to be for my daughter, it would be pink with pink and some more pink, maybe with dark pink accents. 😀

ParticipantAll that 200 needs is another cylinder and it would be fine…

ParticipantRegarding the grease nipple… somehow, years ago, I found a grease gun with a little extender on it… it perfectly reaches in there and gets to the nipple…
…also, just did mine last week. Trying to remember to do them every season at least….!

ParticipantI second everything Ron said about sprockets. I run a 17 in front and if you ask me, it’s what should have been there in the first place…

ParticipantYeah, a bad ground will definitely do it… but so will a failing regulator… it might pop all the lights with over-power…

ParticipantYou basically have 4 options for electronic ignition…
1.) the later 750 Twins stock electronic ignition (or from a later 400)
2.) find a Newtronic (now that they don’t make them anymore)
3.) Boyer-Bransden
4.) Use half of a Dyna S
…oh, and I’d use a 5-ohm Black Dyna coil with the earlier B’s, even with this electronic ignitions. Except for the Dyna S perhaps, I might use a 3-ohm…

ParticipantI’ve always wanted to try a gel battery, but I’ve never wanted to do all the legwork to figure out which ones have the right physical size, shape, with the lugs in the exact right place, etc…

ParticipantI remember that article.
Hey, I just had an idea. You should make a version of that picture (at the top of the article page) where all the names of the people and their bikes are indicated. I mean *you* guys know who you are, but I don’t…

ParticipantYes, I’m a subscriber.
You have no idea how much Rod Gibson hates Kawasaki twins, do you?
Well good for you for making him suffer like that. He deserves it.
Here in the states I prolly won’t get the issue for another week or two…
But in the meantime, CONGRATULATIONS!

ParticipantOne more things guys… is there a way to view “latest posts”?
I like that feature so I don’t have to unnecessarily navigate all around the forum to places that don’t have any activity and such…

ParticipantWow, man… that’s a really good looking machine compared to the impression you give of it in your writing. I was expecting a dust-covered rust-mound. This is a nice machine…
