The best way to remove seized pistons from calipers is to use a grease gun. Fit a grease nipple to the caliper then the gun and pump in the grease. It gives a much more solid force as grease is much senser than brae fluid and does not compress.
It is guaranteed to move the most stubborn of pistons.

Nearly finished π
I could not mount the BSM exhaust correctly.
Issues with rear pegs holder.
Will dig into that as times come.
So again the old stock LTD exhaust is in use. After doing some more mods (side stand and switch) and restoration (new flasher relais) Maria wanted to try another set of tank and side covers in special painting.
She…[Read more]

Looks like it’s starting to come together now Beachcomber.
I may have some top engine mount brackets but unsure as I have about 30 boxes to check π and I believe they are different for different models. If desperate let me know and I will try and hunt some down.

Moved on with Maria’s LTD:
Swing arm bearing cleaned and greased
Steering head bearing cleaned and greased
Both bearings are fine.New front wheel bearings, one sealing ring was missing and that killed one bearing.
Fitted the front fork legs back to the triple trees and found that on leg is about 3 cm longer than the other one, with the top…[Read more]

Hi KK,
the seller accepted the 8gbp shipping cost for all the four pairs π
Thank you but this time there is no need to buy locally and ship at lower rates as we did in the past.
ThanX,

Checked shipping details.
First item 8 pounds, plus every one more additional 4 pounds.I stopped that, sent a question to the seller if he will ship four pairs for 8 pounds. Awaiting his answer.

tada, the new exhaust in the sun, still touched several times and not polished yet.
It is LTD shape of silencers, but the upper edge of the downpipes is slim.
Can’t be fitted with the short LTD half moons, the long half moons of a B-model are needed. -

For the peace of mind I had to remove the oil pan and to check the oil strainer.
Changed engine oil and filter as well π -

Ahhh,
forgot to mention that I will fit a brand new BSM 2-in-2 exhaust (550,- Euros NOS) to this bike.
E-certified, so not an issue with our TΓV (yours MOT).
Front crash bars with additional foot rests are already mounted.
Only the best for my Babe’s bike π
Cheers, Mike -

With sadness guys n gals ‘m going to have to pull out of this one. I strained my wrist yesterday, the right one I had the operation on. I’ve little strength in it and don’t want to risk the riggers of a long ride.
Those who were coming feel free to go ahead and fly the flag.
I will arrange something else later this year. Maybe a few more will…[Read more]

Hi Duffy,
balance screw / sync screw is definitely needed !
Otherwise the butterfly valves have no chance to work synced.
Without that screw you can’t even set idle speed correctly.
Not to talk about idle mixture screw.
Engine will be running like “shaking a pot of screws!”
As we say: “LΓ€uft wie ein Sack NΓΌsse!”, which means the same thing ;…[Read more] - Load More
