Ok I have stripped down the GPZ500,
Cleaned them up and checked what jets are in them,and they seem to be 134 main jets and 35 pilot jets,
the needle is on the 4th clip down?
There were some extra washers in spacing the needle more? But I don’t know why? I have left those out for now?

As its a nice day today, and no breeze, I have got the lacquer down on the body panels 🙂

Heres a better photo of the taps with differant ports used, And you can see what I mean abot the lenght of the pick up pipes.

The two taps looked the same inside,in fact the body’s of the taps seemed to be the same cast used but with different outlets used or the cast left blanked off, you can see this on the photo of the two taps.

I ended up sorting out two taps.But I have two tanks,so i’m hoping I can use one for each tank?

But they are two different types?

One has three outlets Two out of the back and one on a movable pivot on the side. The one on the movable pivot is capped off with a black rubber cap.

Well what an up date it is! KK came down on Saturday and gave me some of his time, 1st off he has managed to sort out my ignition switch problem! and what with that sorted! He only went and got the old girl to fire up!

I woke up this morning far to early for a Sunday,with this electrical problem ,running around my head!

I had a thought what if id trapped a couple of wires of the new bulb harness when I put the new ignition switch in? Maybe id caught a Brown wire and a black and yellow wire and pinched them together when I reassembled the unit?

I mocked it all up on the bike so I could get an idea of what it would look like as well.

Alas she is in more bits than that now as I still have to lacquer it all, and we had an electrical problem that I have left KK trying to work out? I have No Idea!when it comes to wiring!

At least all of the bodywork on my twin is the same color now. 😀

Finaly got the paint down on the tank,still marks in it? But it will do for me. 🙂

So after removing the clocks and painting the clock mounting bracket,and removing the handlebar clamps for painting,also I got some new stainless steel mounting bolts.

So this is much nicer than she was.

The tank is a nightmare 🙁 there more dents than I thought, But im doing my best to get em out. It must have been rubbed down and filled two or three times now?

Here’s the body panels hanging on the line getting painted.
Decided to stick with a near ish? color as to what the bike would have been when new? Saves me changing the color on the log book.
