ParticipantYeah.
When I got it I had to spend some time re-jettin the carbs.
But Did 750 mile breaking it in.
It dies on the way back from the toy run in 2012. And I have been trying to sort it since. Few people looked at it and all said it was something different.
But talking to KK yesterday and he said it sounded as though the condenser had failed.
So a new one and points are on order and I should have them by mid week. So I might have it running next week end. …..beef
ParticipantNo joy today. New points and condenser ordered as per our phone call. Should have them by Thursday. …

ParticipantI switched the wires around and still the same. But now I don’t get my warning lights on the speedo.
The black from the regulator is soldered to the other wires that goes to the starter selonoid. So that must of been how it was when then bike was running. As I ain’t touched it.
Am off tomorrow so it’s last chance saloon for this bike. If I can’t do it tomorrow then it will probably up for sale on Saturday. …

ParticipantJust been out and checked and I wrote it right.
So they are back to front then…. will try tomorrowbeef
Participanthave been out in the garage again. and the regulator has three wires, brown, green and black and all are connected.
the green I thought was not connected was taped to them and exited the sheath so I thought it was from the reg. it is not. it is the rear indicators.so from left side engine case I have three yellow wires. the got to a block and then to the rectifier. then a white to starter relay??
and a black to battery positive terminal[flash=,]http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc485/beef1/z750/wiring2_zpsdf0cf0c2.jpg[/flash]
there is also a red, a green and a grey wire.
the red, to a pale green then off into main loom
grey to blue/red then into main loomthe grey is from my oil pressure sensor I think.

there is a brown that goes to main loom and splits to regulator.
a green to regulator
regulator has also has a black which splits to starter relay and off into main loom.[flash=,]http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc485/beef1/z750/wiring3_zps57552567.jpg[/flash]
if I don’t get it sorted soon then its going………..
beef
Participantmy regulator does not have a connector on it,
I will post a pic tomorrow when I get chance.
beef
ParticipantFrom the regulator..
beef
ParticipantI have got a diagram for it.
It’s not exactly standard so not 100% how accurate the diagram will be…beef
Participantits done now, just in time for my long week end and my week off in a couple of weeks.
coincidental…. haha..
just got to figure the wires now and then get it sorted.
want it back on the road
beef
ParticipantJust thinking about the bike and am sat here wondering do the the wires from the regulator all need to be wired up to something else.
The green wire on mine us not connected because it was wired to the indicators which have come offbeef
ParticipantStill not had time to look at it. Been working and doing my bathroom up because swmbo said I had to finish off after 8 months……
beef
Participanti had it about three years ago, I owned it for about 12-18 months, put nearly 5000 miles on it in that time. was my everyday bike, commuted on it and went touring on it as well.
beef
Participantam off tomorrow and would love to get this bugger running, KK tried ringing a couple of times but no answer.
can you post on here what I need to do…
beef
ParticipantWell nothing. Tried the bulb method and nothing.
Tested the coil. Nothing at both ends. Moved a wire all dash lights went out.I think the answer is a rewire. New coils. Point. Condenser. Battery.
beef
ParticipantSo the points should be open at the f mark.
and I have the light bulb. Saw it in you tube so that’s the route I went.
