A very good question Leonard. It does seem like he was trying to make it run richer for whatever reason. Some folk have no problems and like pods while others seem to have little joy and hate them.
A few members have converted to GPZ 500 carbs which don’t naturally fit with the airbox so necessitate pods. I know one member (Tango) fitted GPZ…[Read more]

Hey Snakey welcome and do not worry about spelling n stuff. I’ve met your kids and know exactly what they mean but i’m on your side pal.
The build is starting to come together. I am intrigued as to how it will turn out so please keep us updated as you go along.

Sadly during migration of the old site (which was apparently as good as impossible but Matt managed it) pictures didn’t come across. Any help with this will be gratefully appreciated as the only way we know ATM is manual.
Cheers Beachcomber.

$150? I would give you your money back for the exhausts if they are original and half decent. Like you say it couldn’t be turned down at that.

Ah that kinda makes sense now.
My guess is the frame on the rolling chassis you have will be a 79 B4. Do you have the papers for both bikes?

Hello Leonard and welcome to our site.
It does look quite a decent twin you have there. A 1979 model is most likely to be a B4 although it could be a B3. However after saying that the front end looks to be B1 or B2 as it has a leading caliper which was trailing on the B3 and B4. Maybe the spare frame has been a donor of parts and is an earlier…[Read more]

You need to ignore these heathen types. They obviously don’t know what we do or the bikes can do and don’t have any assistance like this site can offer.
F*&k em and let them live their rose tinted glasses lives. As long as we are happy it just doesn’t matter and works in our favour.

Hi Sam
It does sound like a fuel mixture issue. Have you checked the carb to head rubbers for perishing or leaks? If air can enter this will potentially weaken the mixture. Also are the carbs well balanced?
When the mixture screw is fully in place it shuts off the air. I always start at one and 3/4 turns out then use a colourtune plug to a…[Read more]

Hi Marko
Thank you for adding the pictures and welcome to the new site. I hope you like it.
Sadly in the transfer we had issues with pictures coming over. We are working on it but it is a manual task and will take some time.
Enjoy and shout for help if you need it.

A couple of weeks ago I met up with Beachcomber, who was being kind enough to borrow me a desperately needed brake caliper for my bike while I got the one I’d stripped the bleed nipple from fixed.
This is exactly the sort of thing we had in mind in setting this club up, people helping each other to keep an ancient bike where every part short of…[Read more]

Bike status this morning – needing a little TLC.
Bike status after TLC – completely fucked :'(It’s been outside all year and I’ve been spraying it with oil to try and fend off the rust. This mostly worked very well, except for the brakes, which had a different opinion.
No sweat, bit of degreaser and they’ll be fine. They weren’t. Bugger,…[Read more]
