Nice on Phil, when can we expect results?

Sorry everyone, due to a family disaster I won’t be going anywhere for a while. Short version is my 7 Y.O. daughter got her feet badly scalded with boiling water and is bandaged up to her ankles. The writing is a bug in the system when you do a preview before posting, it’s a pain in the ass.
I’m interested in the forks, will arrange to come and pick up soon.

If all else fails I will help to get the parts sent across.

I spent a morning repairing little things on the bike yesterday. Improved the handling quite a bit with the correct amount of new oil in the forks, sliding the overlength Z650 forks through the yokes to get the same ride height as the originals. Also put bulbs in the speedo and upped the tyre pressures from 10psi 😮 to around 38 psi.

OK let’s get something organised. I should be able to do any weekend and maybe a weekday with notice, but only a daytrip for me. I’m in Milton Keynes. I’ll look for something going on where we could meet up i.e a motorcycle show etc?

I was up at that cafe recently. That would suit me any time. If anyone this end of the country wants to meet up any time either at that cafe, or another place around the top of the M25 just let me know.

As it’s the feed for the switch I would say you’re right it would be coming from a live feed which is live when the ignition is switched on.

I would guess it’s going to the Starter solenoid to power that up. There isn’t enough info on that diagram to see where the wire comes from at the other side of the switch.
It looks as if the top part of the switch is the lights, the next part is the engine kill, and the bottom part a feed from the ignition, through the switch to the starter…[Read more]

Friday afternoon I managed to get the cover off between downpours (showers if you’re our local weather reporter grrr). All lights checked out ok. Four kicks saw the engine fire up. So now I’m just twiddling my thumbs before the 10:30 MOT

Bloody typical, rained every night as I leave work. Rain forecast for Friday night and Saturday so I’ll be getting wet to prepare for the mot and when I take it there. 👿
