Thanks guys, I’ll give these things a go. I have tapped the side of the carbs before and this seemed to stop it temporarilly but the problem is now constant and tapping does not work. It leaks petrol on main stand as well as side stand…

I have one quite good right side downpipe from my B1, attached to a very poor condition original silencer, if anyone is interested.

Hi, welcome to the site. I’ve just finished my ’76 B1 and the guys on here have been a great source of info and parts! Michael even managed to trace a part from his shed in Germany for me!! Pics of my bike will be posted shortly..
    Good luck with your project..

Wow! You lucky people – I was too slow to get tickets for ZZ at Manchester and by the time I realised they were playing, it was sold out! Any after market tickets available were at super inflated prices. Maybe next time…..
I’m sure they will be awesome – I watched one of their gigs on Sky recently. They were playing in their home state of Texas and it was absolutely fantastic!

AC/DC, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple & ZZ Top are favourites but I like most rock/blues…
Saw AC/DC live on Black Ice Tour a few years back and they were awesome – hope I get a chance to see them again!!

As the shell and rim I have is pretty shabby, I’ve decided to buy a complete new H4 headlamp unit from Z Power which should fit OK but many thanks for taking the time to look out the glass and reflector in the meantime. That was good of you and much appreciated. Best regards.

Hi fellas, thanks for your kind comments on the bike. The picture is before the restoration has started and the seat pictured is the old seat which had a cheap, ill-fitting cover (the photo makes that seat look better than it actually is). I have still to fit the new seat and all the other parts mentioned previously and will post pics when I do that. The seat renovation at Leightons cost

Since this pic the bike has had a totally renovated seat, courtesy of RK Leighton, who did a fantastic job. I’ve also had the front mudguard, stays and kick start lever re-chromed and believe it or not I managed to find a NOS right hand exhaust for the bike! I’ve also fitted new mirrors, indicator units, replacement headlight and one or two other goodies found after trawling the ‘net for hours!! I’ve also fitted new carb jets and floats,NOS airbox connectors (found in Sweden), NOS points/condenser with plate and a new Motobatt battery to help improve starting. I’ll post some pics when I get it put back together..
