Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year…y’all 😀
7th October 2008 at 5:22 pm #7417Ron750M1ParticipantOh no, he was the one that got me on this site and gave me a lot of help on the twins forum. I am truly sorry to hear of his passing. I wish I could have met him in person. He seemed to be a great guy.
RIP Peter28th May 2008 at 5:57 pm #7247Ron750M1ParticipantShoe update, copied from KZR:
“Today’s report on shoe is that he is resting comfortably and responding to pain management. He is experiencing some kidney problems because of the trauma from the accident, but they are addressing that at this time. He is not quite out of the woods yet.”

“but ron …i was only telling the truth”Well, since silence can be taken as ascent, I guess you ARE correct, sir.:-D
BTW, Does anyone know if Jones is a Welsh sirname? Years ago someone told me that “Jones” was the Welsh word for “Smith” as in blacksmith, silversmith, tinsmith…etc

Although I did install a new chain @ the same time as I changed the sprockets, I kept the stock link #’s, I might add a link on a future chain but the stock length is fine, right now. The 17T sprocket is about the maximun size if you leave the inner chain guard installed although I understand you can fit an 18T if you remove it. You would also have to lengthen the chain. I’m running about 5000rpm @ around 68-70mph, and haven’t lost any low-end torque. I can pretty much leave the bike in 5th gear for most riding conditions, even low rpm(2K) going uphill. Sorry I haven’t even considered changing my rear sprocket, so don’t know about that. In my, limited, experience it seems that many of the specs for the B4’s still obtain for the CSR’s(M1). The grips I got @ a local dealership but I’ve seen those same type grips just about everywhere from ebay to jcwhitney, shouldn’t be that hard to find replacements for your torn pair. I appriciate the compliment, welcome and good luck:)

Although I did figure there would be a couple of replies to WhipKwak’s characterizations of Welshmen.20th April 2008 at 4:39 am #7102Ron750M1ParticipantAnd while I’m on my confusion w/Britan. Why is King John (Lackland), such a historical “persona non grata”? So much so, that there has never been another John, in the “ruling family”. He’s the guy that signed the Magna Carta, which is the basis for limiting the Kings power and setting up the Houses of Lords & Commons as well as the grandad of the US Constitution. Seems to me, he should be a “National Hero”.
Like I said above, I’m a bit in my cups and ramblin’. Not quite sure how this relates to Dr. Who????

6th March 2008 at 3:32 am #6635Ron750M1ParticipantFunny you should ask, there is a discussion on KZr about that very same bedspread:)

28th February 2008 at 8:57 pm #6693Ron750M1ParticipantI heard on the news, y’all got a bit of an earthquake, (5.5) the other day. Did any of y’all feel it?
6th February 2008 at 11:40 pm #6718Ron750M1ParticipantI saw a history program awhile back. The program said that the “invention” of the mixed drink came about during the US prohibition. By mixing w/different flavorings, you could hide the taste of bad alcohol, a lot of that bad alcohol was methanol.
5th February 2008 at 11:53 pm #6717Ron750M1ParticipantOK, got it, wood spirits, methyl alcohol, methanol, sterno, wood alochol, popular amongst unethical bootleggers. It’s not the coloration that’s the poison, that’s just added, as a warning, so you WON’T drink it. Methanol is poisonous right out of the still.
5th February 2008 at 8:58 pm #6445Ron750M1ParticipantYou have a 6 man tent on there 😯 ? My big tent will barely go in my wife’s car ❗ :). What I ment about your rack, is that I was wondering if that was aftermarket for the 750CSR or was it originally for some other bike/model? I’ve been discovering that there are aftermarket parts made for other bikes/models that will fit on an M1, but there is no way of knowing if it will fit, unless you buy it/try it.
Cool setup 🙂
BTW is “desperate” another member or a local bike boneyard? -
