They don’t need the rings. Another option you have is a firm in Manchester called NRP. You send them your slides and they fit the diaphrams for you. It does cost more, think it’s around £45 each.

The problem with the original silencers is they rot from the inside so once you see that they are generally shot. It is most likely that they will pretty much disintegrate when you chase for good metal to patch weld to.

Here is a USA style mudguard suitable for painting. Sickly and very poor attempted paint job but good underneath. It is solid and possibly even good enough for cleaning and re chroming.

That is great news Jon. These engines are bullet proof when they have been looked after. Regular oil changes are a must.

The starter clutches are a bit of a weak point but are quite easily overhauled. Shout up if you need any help.

It is plug and play but you would have to reposition the rear indicators.
