Also I have managed to fit the K&N filters to the back of the carbs.

Not sure if I’m going to run the bike like this yet? Or put the air box back on?

Anybody got any thoughts on that? Are K&N’s Ok on these bikes or am I better of with the standard set up?

    Hi Tango,
I wrote a long story but couldn’t post it => time out ;-(
Go for the K+Ns, it is like a music instrument ;-)))
Main jets 5 to 10% larger,
needle may be good in position 4 (counted from top)
idle jet can stay the same or just one number larger.
    Good luck !

    Hi Tango,
I am riding K+Ns on my LTD “Black Lady” since about 15 years.
Even heavy rain doesn’t impact the work they have to do 😉
On my green/black “Jekyll ‘n’ Hide” B with CSR motor, B valve cover (no secondary air system) and LTD carbs I use K+Ns the fourth year now. Works well, only the fuel consumption is increasing during wet conditions and I have nooo idea why?
The “Black Lady” doesn’t show this effect.
    Cheers, Michael

Thats good information and advice Michael. We also have a carb conversion here that we do. We put GPZ500 carbs on. These give much better perfomance and reliability, as if we need more 😀
