It’s the best bike I’ve owned but if I continue either my back will give in or I’ll drop the beast. Strange but never quite fancied the smaller brother Z400. I don’t tend to rush things through so may still see you at Lotherton this year.

I have a KZ750 and have identified it as the Canadian version. The workshop manual shows the USA model with handlebar switchgear to turn off the headlight. The tail and front parking light are permanently on for both USA and Canadian models whereas the european models could be switched off. The difference for USA and the Canadian model is that the latter has no position on the headlight switchgear to turn the headlight off. I’ve converted mine by purchasing a new hanle bar swicthgear so I can turn off the headlight. Hope this helps.

I find the comments about the comparative top speed amusing as on any bike of this era who would want to do over the ton for any length of time. I’ve ridden mine at 80+ with the screen fitted and it’s more than enough. See you at lotherton if you are going.

22nd November 2008 at 4:30 pm #7483GoughieParticipantPhil, I’ll let you know how I get on. There’s no rush it’s too cold for any riding for some time.
22nd November 2008 at 10:17 am #7482GoughieParticipantPhil, it’s just occured to me. The decal set part number you gave me is for a 1976 B1. Does this then differ from a set for the later B4? Not being up to speed on the different spec on this bike doesn’t help. Thanks
22nd November 2008 at 10:12 am #7481GoughieParticipantPhil, That would mean I then have B1 bodywork on my B4 bike. I’ll stick with my original plan and get this lot painted. I’ve yet to search ebay with the info you gave me. Being a novice at buying off ebay I presume it will easily come up with a search using that part number. Speak to you soon.
20th November 2008 at 6:48 pm #7480GoughieParticipantThanks for the offer but I will end up with stuff lying around as I don’t have any other use for it if it’s not on my bike.
19th November 2008 at 4:32 pm #7479GoughieParticipantPhil, thanks for this info mate. I could get these from Z power with this part number ? and find a suitable paint shop.
1st September 2008 at 7:03 pm #7360GoughieParticipantAre you sure you weren’t in Saddam’s republic guard when they torched the Kuwaiti oil fields. Looks kind of similar.
27th July 2008 at 9:03 pm #7311GoughieParticipantGood to meet up with you fella’s. Thanks for the Z twin sticker Phil. Worth at least a bacon butty if we meet up at Rivington Barn at some stage. I think it was Mark asking me about the screen on my bike. Apologies to Chris if it was you. It cost
22nd July 2008 at 8:58 pm #7287GoughieParticipantI guess I’m being picky about the colour and after seeing the Z900 on the inside cover of the VJMC June issue mag it’s only made me more determined to get it changed.
The exhaust system the last owner said he had got sent over from Holland. I don’t know who the dealer is but I still have the previous owners contact number if anybody wants me to find out the source of these. See you God fearing folks at Lotherton.21st July 2008 at 6:47 am #7283GoughieParticipantHi Phil, if that’s your real name and as you probably guessed by now I’m absolutely crap with using any form of messaging forum, chat in fact anything other than email so don’t be dissapointed if I screw up here. I would love to send a photo of my bike but that may be a little advanced for now unless I email somewhere. I’m short on time Phil so I will see if this message appears and if successful will be able to fill you in on my background etc. Speak to you all soon.
