They are Mikuni’s and I had to replace the diaphragms in them. There is a place called jbmindustries that you can buy just the diaphragm instead the very expensive whole set-up from the dealer. I have used these on several different bikes and they send full instructions on how to replace them. They even have videos on them too. And the best part they are very reasonably priced.

I am sorry to see this site might be closing down. I feel the same way about facebook and am not a member. I still use a desktop computer and my cell-phone doesn’t even have a camera. My daughter calls me a dinosaur but still spends time on the desktop because of the large screen.
I am usually on the site when all of you are in bed because I am on the other side of the world. I love to look at the pictures of other members rides and it has helped me to see how and where some of the parts go.
If there is anything we can do to keep this site going, let all of us know and we will help. I know I am new here but I hope I am not stepping on anybody’s toe’s by being a spokesperson for everybody.
Here is a picture of my wife, daughter and sons at my daughter’s recent graduation.

My exhaust system is in really rusty shape. I can clean, paint and wrap the exhaust pipes with titanium wrap but the mufflers are beyond repair. I am going to cut the pipes after the cross-over and put some type of muffler on. I get along very well with the people here in my village with mostly some quiet mufflers on my other bikes so I need something that isn’t too loud and sounds good. What has some of the members used that fills the bill?

KZ1000’s are good for the heart and test the adrenalin flow on dirt roads. Here is a picture of my other Kawasaki. It is actually a twin on the left and a twin on the right conjoined in the middle?

I am not promoting them but < www.partzilla.com > has parts listings and they show what other bikes a certain part fits.

You will need to know the European model compared to the US model. They probably won’t sell you items as they don’t sell stuff to me since I live out of the continental US.

In the USA all of the fluid zinc or zinc powder has been removed from automotive oil because of the EPA. The zinc coated internal engine parts and helped engines live longer. We use diesel engine oil as most of it still has zinc and some cases titanium added to the oil. There are also several motorcycle oils that work too. The old BMW airhead guys are on top of this so check their forums.

The early Z-1 900’s had the calipers in the rear. They are 36mm so they should bolt on. The discs and calipers are the same too.
