Hi Dabbler
I have not forgotten your requests.
ZPower do replica tank badges at £16 each but they are for the B models.
There is another supplier I am trying to track down who also does many other bits including ignition switches (as do ZPower) which I have used and can recommend but again mainly for the B models..
Are you still on a standard…[Read more]

Hello freefaller and welcome.
How looks can be deceiving. It looks quite a tidy bike on the outside. How far are you taking it? Are you gonna go back to original?
One of my CSR twins came from New Mexico. It was in excellent external condition but the heat had fried the majority of the electrics and faded the paintwork. Carbs were full of red…[Read more]

Very nice. How much is that worth out there?

These twin engines are from the Z breed and very over engineered. With regular servicing and oil changes they will accomplish many miles. One of our members bought his twin new and very soon will have taken his around the clock.
The sky is the limit with the right care.

I’m quite pleasantly shocked with this. I have always been of the belief that iridium plugs were for sports style engines.
I will give it a go. Cheers for the feedback

The 865 big bores have been done by 2 guys who I believe shared their information and knowledge. They don’t come in kits but if you give me time I will try and get the information needed for you.
Don’t apologise at all just keep asking away

Thank you Jett
I have looked through these pics and the Link to the build.
I wasn’t initially sure the first picture was a full original S2 but you have educated me there. The only pictures I have of the S2 are on my official Kawasaki parts list but these are black and white and not very clear. It was mainly the tank stripes that confused me as…[Read more]

Hi TJ,
I would use the fuel tank of an LTD / CSR.
It fits to the B-frame with only minor adjustments at the rear, middle holder / pin.
Either enlarge the hole to a slot in the frame or reduce the size of the pin at the fuel tank.
Can be secured by a small hole in that pin and a cotter pin through it. Large washer in between. It has small…[Read more]

Hi Jett,
welcome to the Lonesome Twins !
That is an awesome chopper that you have built.
You have astonished me.
It would be nearly impossible to get it legal on the road here in Germany were I live.Looking forward to see more pics of your Twins and have a lot of fun riding them 😉

Hi Jett
There have been various Big Bore projects, some of which have been successful. 865cc has been achieved here in the UK and also Germany I believe.
Michael from Germany German 750 twin Website has been working on a 920cc? big bore. I am sure he will be along soon to comment.
I also believe someone attempted over 1000cc but this took quite…[Read more]

That looks very nice Dabbler. She’s turned out much better than I was expecting I think you’ve picked a good colour scheme there that fits with the era.
Do you have tank badges? There is a place that does reproduction ones at a fair price if your interested.
Good luck with your MOT next week and enjoy your riding. Don’t forget to report on your…[Read more]

Hi Jett
Welcome to our humble abode.
You have 3 KZ750’s then. That is great news especially with the two S2 models as they are very rare in our part of the world if they exist at all. We do not know massive amount about the S2 and I can honestly say I have never seen one in a picture let alone in the flesh.
Do you have any stock pictures you…[Read more]

Hi Kenny,
the BS34 carbs description sounds good so far.
One issue may be that the idle srew is set to open the butterfly valves to much.
Try starting with reduced opening / lower idle speed. You had the ignition rotor apart, which was necessary, for sure. But it is possible to mount it back by 180° turned. You still have ignition sparks as…[Read more]

Hi Dabbler
Firstly the carbs in that picture are not standard CSR carbs. The CSR was fitted with 34mm Mikuni’s. I don’t know what those carbs are from and I am not familiar with them so unfortunately I can not advise.
They might be from the ER5 or KLR? which I believe will also fit.

Hi TJ,
that looks awesome !
But I can not recognise where the exhaust exhaust of the turbo is?
The intake of the exhaust gas from the engine has a wide flange into the turbo.
Would it be feasable to route two separate downtubes in parallel into the flange ?
Of course not ideal for the exhaust flow, but it will pressurise the intake “rotor”…[Read more]
