I’m afraid I’m with Michael here. Things are fitted for a reason and as I can see from his picture that is good enough reason for me. The same can be achieved by fitting a 35T or 36T sprocket to the rear. They may be harder to find but probably a hell of a lot cheaper in the long run.

You can’t fit bigger than a 17 on the front without remove the inner chain guard which is risky as your getting very close to the wiring under there plus there’s no protection from the shit flying off the chain. I would strongly advise using a smaller rear which will also give more adjustment of the chain

Michael replied to the topic front sprocket in the forum Technical Garage 9 years, 5 months ago
Yeah 17 is the biggest unless you remove the inner chain guard but then your risking damaging the wires.
In answer to your question it will reduce the revs at the price of acceleration but that will hardly be noticeable.
Plus one tooth on the front roughly equates to -2.5 teeth on the rear.

Yeah Cheers hardride.
We know of Partzilla and also CMSL who provide a similar service.
We have ZPOWER here in the UK who can supply all available parts and have stock of some NOS parts

I have sold this bike to a young guy who urged me to do so.
He wants to built a classic style Caferacer out of it.
I am still looking for the dutch papers that I have got when I bought it, but haven’t found them yet.
Well, …Cheers, Michael

First time I have used a copper one and it was untight right away. Probably it was not heated correctly.
Will give it a try again later as they can be reused.
Actual gasket is from an Athena gasket set.I think I have to let cylinder and head to be face-grinded (maschined to be flat and parallel).
[Very hard for me to describe that in english…[Read more] -

Hi Tango,
I have heard of this but I still can’t believe that Harley is using a metric M22x1 thread type.
Looking forward to your mounting of this fuel cock.
Good luck !

Well, except the issue with the rear brake plate everything worked very well.
I have sorted that in the meanwhile. My drive chain was a bit to loose, but I have got the swing arm guard / chain guide tested that way. It works fine.
Marias LTD has still a bit untight cylinder head gasket and the fuel consumption is approx half a liter / a pint…[Read more]

Maria was keen on having the short rear (US style) fender.
I have decided to use the long (german) rear fender and even extended it with a rubber guard.
Maria likes to ride behind me and I don’t want to throw any small stones and pieces, collected from the road to her.
Well, it is a touring bike built to purpose, not a show winning…[Read more] - Load More
