EEEEEEEEEEKKKK!
I’m in the same position with my CSR. Mechanically it is sound and the cosmetic side is ok but the finishing will be done properly after I have proved her when we go to Belgium. I’ve not to much to do now. Fit rear light bracket. Make a couple of exhaust brackets. New fuel pipes. New carb clamps and a good clean n polish. I’ve…[Read more]

I am loving how this is progressing. The gas struts look very cool and the electrics are tidying up very nicely. Keep it there is only 3 weeks to go now eeeekkkkk!!!!!

I’ve a swinging arm here that the bracket has departed from it because of rust. They can also get caught and bent so another thing to be careful of.

Well done Tango 😉 .
Looks god to me. My guess would be 5 hours max but then again we aren’t tied down to time. Bastogne does seem to be quite an attractive little town.

That’s great information Michael and does not apply in the UK. Thank You. Try to keep the shocks parallel with the frame member Philpass, don’t make them too long or they won’t work properly resulting in a hard ride and maybe even bending the shocks.

I am pretty sure this is the complete item. If I remember properly the rubber is vulcanised to the steel bracket and not separate items. Kawasaki only list one part number and the number quoted is correct. Good find Marko. I have bought the other one 😀

Hi Mark
On the CSR model there s a guard coming down from the swinging arm near the front that prevents the chain touching the tyre (Part No 55020-1152). Without this guard the chain would definitely hit the tyre. I am guessing as the rear wheel arrangement is very similar on the S and Y models they too should have this part.

My God man. Thought you’d done a moonlight. I’m glad she s now running well for you. It’s been a bit of a grind but at least your there now. We will have to organise a ride somewhere but it will have to be after Belgium I think.

Hi Michael
Yes the look is completely different. I have tried to give her that retro 70’s style which with mudguards painted I think it has worked.
A few cosmetic changes and technical improvements. I am very happy with how she has turned out.
She is a pleasure to ride and I do get a few looks and nice comments, hopefully the same in Belgium 😀

Your welcome Beachcomber. Good advice from Trevor. If you got a CSR harness you would have wire n plugs but you would have to route them yourself

No worries mate. Thought it was better to point it out than watch you struggle. I think ebay will be your best option

You would have a lot of rewiring mate. Charging circuit is different. Switch gear is different. Ignition system different. CSR is electronic ignition. Lighting is different. It is up to you if you fancy taking on all those changes

That’s a bit like the one in post 2 here Flat Tracker
I thought you had sorted a wiring harness. I have a spare for a CSR if that’s any use. They are different to the B models

I’ve corrected the flag to show our new web address (was .co.uk) and given it a bit of a freshen up
