Hmmm,
a warm engine is harder to turn than a cold engine.
Probably the engine heat warms up the starter motor and eases its job ?First thing to do is to clean the collector and to fit new brushes/coals[?].
Also clean the gaps of the collector with a small tool. Soft material (plastic) is prefered over metal objects. To disconnect the…[Read more]

Ok, next idea is to change the rear frame while keeping the stock rear light.
The upright metal plate that holds the rear light needs to go inwards a few centimeters (approx. 5 cm / 2 inches)
Needs some cutting and welding 😉
Will change rear light holder to US-version without flasher holder (already in stock).
Rear flasher will be mounted at the…[Read more] -

Try again with a car battery via jump start cables connected.
If that shows the same result, most likely the coals/sliding contacts in the starter motor are worn. Check the springs as well. Repair kits available, at least in the USA.There shouldn’t be a difference when using the starter motor, either with cover fitted or not.
Is there a paper…[Read more] -

Hi Andy,
that was my first thougt as well when reading this post.
Especially when it pops into the exhaust. A fixed timing advancer can cause these issues. Needs disassambly, some cleaning and greasing (only inside!) to work again.
It is always a good idea to check the timing advancer !Prior to disassambly and just to check, remove the ignition…[Read more]

Thank you Mike and Tony,
yes, I am the german Michael and in constant contact with KK.
Good to hear that my photostories were helpful 😉The choke system of the LTDs just enriches the mixture and has no impact to the butterfly valves (Drosselklappen).
In normal cases it is a kind of a ritual to turn the idle screw to adjust the idle speed when…[Read more]

Hi Padders,
due to my lack of understanding the english language, I can’t clearly identify which tubes you mean.
A pic would help.Is it the common tube between the intake boots? Where the vacuum gauges are to be connected during service?
You may seal them individually or leave the common connection tube, up to you as long as they are…[Read more] -

Not the cheapest ones, but great:
http://www.pingelonline.com/prodcat/fuel-valves.asphttp://www.pingelonline.com/motorcycle-fuel-valves/dual-outlet-3311-d-ch.asp
You may use a fuel tap with single outlet instead and a “T-shaped” connector between fuel tap and carbs.
Thread size at B-tanks is M22x1.
