Hello Jimi5150 and welcome to the site.
It is a bit of a grim story you tell so far so let’s try and give it a happy ending.
I would like to know a little more about your bike (age, model etc) so we can ore accurately help and advise you. Any chance of a few pics? I have a decent stock of used and new spares here and can get most parts through…[Read more]

Hello everyone Jimi from North Lincolnshire here, I got an abandoned 76 KZ750 twin chopper project that I swapped for an old ratty Kawasaki GPZ305 years ago and the chop has been sat in the back of the Garage waiting it turn. Last year lockdown enabled me to catch up on projects around the house, garden and other bikes and car, just leaving th…[Read more]

Somebody put a lot of time and forethought into that bike. Shame it wasn’t maintained.

Yes, that’s the one, a bit neglected, but it should be back on the road soon.

Hi guys, yes KK, that is the bike, but it’s obviously not been cared for since that photo. I’m in the middle of re-wiring it, and changing a few things.
The starter motor is not working, if you have one I’d be interested, or if you know who can repair them, that would be helpful.
Regards
Scott

Fingers crossed Karl. One way or another we will get it done even if you have to get a new head but hopefully it won’t go that far.

Yes mate, hes taking a little off the valve tips. He mentioned getting shims done but he doesn’t have the right equipment for that. He’s taking the 0.1mm for the gap off today, that I forgot to factor in. There was no gap at all, in fact to start with the back of the cam lobe where to take your gap measurement from was pressing against the shims…[Read more]

Hi, I now own this bike that was built by Street Tuff. It’s in a sorry state now, but I’ll sort out the issues it has, and change a couple of things to suit my taste. I can’t wait to get it out on the road.

Hi, I’ve just bought a z750 twin, it’s been modified, but a bit neglected. I’m giving it a re-wire, and I’ll change a few things, but I’m looking forward to getting it on the road.

Hi Karl
Preston isn’t that far from me so if I can help there just shout up.
I assume he is grinding the valve stems down to create a gap. We can also grind shims if needed. I believe they are hardened through not just the surface.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Two trips to Preston (so far) to try and get a gap, my first lot of working out didn’t include the gap! Thankfully dave is a patient man. He warned me that we might loose the gap after doing the valves and seats, but they were no use as they were. Hoping they are ready tomorrow, if not it will be another week before…[Read more]
