I understand your frustration there Michael but that was a bit harsh. We are all different with how we handle things. I have the same frustration as you with repetitive posting but I must be honest I had not noticed that. The easiest way to handle something like this to me is if you don’t like it don’t read it.
I also think there is an element of misunderstanding brought about with different cultures. Michael and I have had the benefit of discussing this kind of issue in telephone calls and face to face conversations. Because of the confusions brought. About in the direct translation between English and Getman (probably English and other languages too the Germans have taken out confusing issues out of conversation which we wrongly interpret as rude. I don’t think Michael intended to be rude or indeed offend Beachcomber. I think in his way he was trying to encourage progress. Please correct me if I’m wrong Michael. I also understand why Beachcombet responded as he did. Hopefully this will calm down and he will return to posting some progress again.
4th November 2014 at 8:35 am #10124MichaelParticipantHi KK,
you are perfectly right !
Thank you for interpreting my post as we know us personally and sorry to appear as rude.I love to see someone bringing back Z750Twins back to life and I like to see modifications done !!!
We all have our dreams how to modify them.
Either it stays a dream or it comes to reality. If it is just a dream, post some pics (as suggested with the Turbo) and then the story ends because it is too complicated, too expensive, etc.I wanted to encourage to post the news and latest things or pics.
To ignore a thread isn’t the way it should go. A thread should continously move on and show the progress, not repitive pics.
Hope this clarifies what I wanted to express.
My sorry to Beachcomber !
Pardon, that I have selected a description that was understood as offending.Hope you are staying with the Lonesome Twins and I promise not to comment in that way any time in future.
Cheers, Michael
4th November 2014 at 10:36 am #10169beachcomberParticipantWOW ………………….
OK – I post on several forums – Including dotheton.com. , which has one of the largest daily hits of any specialist bike site.
I write [ used to write for a living ] a thread recalling the early days [ Cafe Racers ] – “Beachcomber’s Tales from the Day” 54,000 views and 558 replies …..NEVER been accused of being boring. My KZ thread [ “Tangerine Dream” ]has over 11,000 views and 130 replies … however.
Yes Michael, I accept that with different cultures sometimes a comment [ especially when it’s not your first language ]can be misunderstood – I spend a lot of time at my place in Saxony and have many German friends – maybe I should have realised sooner !!
MY response was more a case of – I’ll report progress / post pix when there is something more positive to pass on.
However, posting up something as mundane as having the parts finally welded and everything prepped for powder coating IS progress to me [ “Progress Report” ] in readiness for the next stages. AND it gives me some sense or urgency to get things done. ALL of my projects are hampered by severe lack of funds, and at 70 years old – time is of the essence to get things completed.
As KK says – there’s always the “off button” option.
So ……. Michael, I accept your criticism, and quite often the senile dementure might kick in and I will post a picture twice, for which I apologise.
I WILL rein in my natural enthiusiasm and only post when something new / interesting comes along.
There – all good friends now?
4th November 2014 at 11:37 am #10080KaptainkwakKeymasterThanks guys.

I WILL rein in my natural enthiusiasm and only post when something new / interesting comes along.I see the problem here. You are too happy. Happy people spend little time in sheds with bikes. If you could only be a bit more bloody miserable like the rest of us this thread would write itself :hammer:
5th November 2014 at 10:30 am #10081KaptainkwakKeymasterThink I might be suffering from that as well. Nearly finished my hall, stairs and landing n I’m feeling happy too.
Thanks for the heads up Lonesome. It’s back to the garage for me to get some much needed therapy.
5th November 2014 at 4:15 pm #10170beachcomberParticipant“Mellowed” is probably nearer the mark.
Believe me I’d LOVE to be in the garage more – but that requires bits, which requires funds.
That said, I am now at the point [ KZ ] where assembly can start soon [ when powder coating is back ].
As soon as the rolling chassis is up together I can concentrate on the outwork – Weber manifold, exhaust, seat upholstery, etc.
On the plus side – the KZ requires much less investment than my other 2 projects [ 3 if you include the Vanguard Estate Hot Rod ! ].
5th November 2014 at 5:42 pm #10125MichaelParticipantHi Beachcomber,
thank you for accepting my apologise !
I am happy you did so and that you are still with the Lonesome Twins.
Thank you !Looking forward to your progress 😉
Cheers, Michael
6th November 2014 at 11:06 am #10171beachcomberParticipantMichael – more of a cultural / language misunderstanding which I SHOULD have been alert to !
When I spend any time at my place in Saxony I try very hard to use some German language. However all my friends speak very good English [ as usual ! ] and apparantly I speak what little German I have with a Saxony accent which has all my pals [ from the West and South ] rolling around with laughter.
However, from now on – no duplicated pix and “progress” reports.
6th November 2014 at 7:44 pm #10126MichaelParticipantHi Beachcomber,
the german dialect from Saxony is very special, indeed 😉
Good luck achieving progress with your bike !
Looking forward to see next pics 😉A blasted and powder coated pure frame and some other “powdered” parts are always nice to look at 😉
Cheers, Michael
13th November 2014 at 4:41 pm #10172beachcomberParticipantDelays on powder coating as their oven packed up at the weekend !
However, all promised for next week and then – new pix !!
I now have a second man set up for Weber manifold fabrication, so hope to have that underway soon.
16th November 2014 at 1:04 pm #10173beachcomberParticipantWiring loom issue now sorted out – thanx to Philpass.
17th November 2014 at 1:05 am #10127MichaelParticipantThat is good news !
27th November 2014 at 1:40 pm #10174beachcomberParticipantAT LAST ……. collected the powder coating this morning. Most of the parts for the KZ and a few parts for my TR1 Cafe Racer [ Black bits ].
Well pleased ….. except, they very kindly masked off the frame number – so that is original bare metal !!
Not sure if I should rattle can it or put an alloy plate over the top.
The bad news is they say they can now NOT pc the wheels without being stripped [ bearings out etc. ]. I’ve got a pal with gas welding kit [ need some heat ], so I’ll run them down to him to get the spindle out.
Need to pull my finger out now and get the parts for Gold passivating off to the workshop – that includes the engine plates, bolts and spindles.
27th November 2014 at 2:16 pm #10082KaptainkwakKeymasterI quite like the number looking different. Why not try masking it n painting it black?
