Prepared for Honda early 1990’s handle bar switch units.

YES, I will pick this one to ride in Belgium, Germany and Luxemburg 🙂

Still some work to do, especially the electric and the seat 🙂

But there is still plenty of time left, I hope :-0

At least this time I know that all electrical components worked before.
If something doesn’t work it will be a wiring issue and I have to correct that 🙂
Not an issue as with the Dirtbike, where I’ve picked stuff laying around, not knowing what is working and what may be defective !

That’s a good place to be Michael. I am hoping to ride mine tomorrow in the morning and tinker in the afternoon.

Are the controls off a VFR they look like the same ones as my Honda CB1000 as well. I take it you had to cut and join the wires because the plugs were different?

    Hi Tango,

Honda used these handlebar switches at many models.
These are of a NTV650 Revere, my VFR750 has the same ones, your CB1000 and more.
The case is the same, cable length vary.
There is a 9-pole connector used, mechanically matching the Kawasaki ones 🙂
Need to swap pins in the connector for correct matches 🙂
Even additional cables (clutch lever switch) are existing 🙂

I love these switch units 🙂
They are slim, have good ergonomy and winker can be reset just by pushing the button 🙂

Right hand side has a lights switch (Off – Park – On). Currently I am using the CSR switches and they don’t have a light switch.

My new round headlight has an LED ring used as parking light and it looks so cooool when only that one is on, but currently I can’t switch only that on.

You will see that live in Belgium 🙂

    Cheers, Michael

    Made some progress:

    – right hand switch is mounted correctly (hole in steering bar for pin), throttle grip snaps back easily
    – throttle cable (Honda) modified to match Kawa carbs
    – adjustable front brake lever mounted (matching the used Honda master brake cylinder)
    – new Kawa stock clutch lever mounted
    – starter motor cable re-routed over cylinder head area

    – still playing puzzle with electric components under the seat. Need to find “best” matching positions prior to electric rewiring.
    – position of starter relais was the challenge !

    – left hand switch will be done today (mechanical)
    – inner “mud guard” under seat cowl will be made with cellular rubber
    – hopefully some things more 🙂

    Cheers, Michael

Your obviously making good progress there but still much for you to do. Are you going to be ready in time for Belgium?

Got the dampers for the seat cowl 🙂
    That is cool :-)))
Not finished yet, but fully operational.

    Electric got three more relais:
flasher, side stand and low beam.
Will see if the lights relais can switch between low and high beam as well 🙂

    Cheers, Michael
