I have heard that the data logging gear is in the post, apparently some disreputable types knowing that they have been flashed are using plantpots full of thermite placed on top of the post lit with sparklers, the thermite exits through the hole in the pot and guts the post.
Worse yet all the ingredients for thermite (iron oxide and aluminium…[Read more] -

If you run the bike with the cap open and it still dies I’d take a look at the fuel tap itself, if the diaphragm gets crap in it or sticks it can restrict the fuel flow too.

Happy days joe, I stumbled onto the twins years ago, I have never known a more
underrated bike. I think they are superb.
Just fitted the footpegs to my chop, bit more welding, paint, polish and wiring and I’m set! -

Having seen your Adonis sculpted physique I can’t argue with that.
Adonis is still the name of the kebab shop in Stoney isn’t it? -

Know all about that one, I’ve had costochondritis for years, once you’ve buggered up your ribcage you are stuck with it.
I managed to carry a 1600 beetle engine down my drive before my body cried enough.
Flared up again last year, i thought it was a heart attack. -

beachcomber replied to the topic 13000 mile yank import z750b in the forum New Projects 17 years, 11 months ago
It depends to a large extent on the local office you use, I’ve registered a variety of oddballs (imports, trikes and chops etc.) and my local dvla office is
pretty helpful, had dealings with a couple of other offices and they were a bunch of miserable cxxts. -
beachcomber replied to the topic 13000 mile yank import z750b in the forum New Projects 17 years, 11 months ago
If its got a customs release form and due to its age all you’d have to do is get
an mot stating the chassis number and book it in at your local dvla office and
pay the road tax when they issue an age related plate, I’ve registered a couple of imports.Oops should point out that if it has been imported as ‘spares’ without the title document from…[Read more]

beachcomber replied to the topic front brake master cylinder testing in the forum How To Fix It 17 years, 11 months ago
Strange things master cylinders, they can work fine and pack up when you change brake pads etc, I assume there is a small amount of pressure left that pushes against the seal but when it is released the seal fails.
Probably why the cure for spongy brakes is to pump it until you get a lever then cable tie it to the bars overnight. - Load More
