Must be way before my time Phil?

Well today is Good Friday, and as its a Bank Holiday I don’t work, I thought Id have a look to see where I can route and mount the choke.

I wanted the choke to operate from under the seat, Not from the bars,as when I do the Cafe Racer side of the bike I wont have as much room on the Cafe bars as I do with this wide set of handlebars Ive fitted at the moment.

From the photo above you can see that the GPZ Carbs Choke pulls from the left hand side. But if you look at the top of the photo this is going to be partly blocked by the fuel tap once its fitted.

So I set about making a bracket to hold the Clutch Plunger, I opted for a classic car type (Of an old mini)

I mounted the bracket on the front right hand side of the false air box. This would give me a nice arch for the cable to go over to the left hand side and around the carbs, then back in on itself to attach to the choke slide arm on the carbs.

Once the fuel tap was fitted and the choke cable routed.
I fitted the side panel to make sure everything is fitting properly with out getting snagged up anywhere. Im happy with the result!

All I have to do now is Find a seat lock? & source a chain guard, May opt for a chrome universal one yet?
and then buy a battery for the old girl and we are about done, the bike is very close to being usable. 😀

The bike is starting to come together But I wasn’t happy with the clocks? They were looking a little worn compared to the new paint on the bike, even though it isn’t perfect?,so I am stripping the clocks off and giving them a touch up to. 😉
