Hi AtLarge,
as far as I can see it is a Grimeca double-duplex drum brake (Made in Italy).
Was in use with MV Agusta 750 S:
and some more italian bikes and race bikes in the 1970s.Currently this drum brake is out of production, but may be appear again at even…[Read more]

Regarding the thread of the oil pressure switch I have found this:
http://www.ralstoninst.com/news/story/the-difference-between-npt-bspp-and-bspt-seals/Very important is to understand, that this thread is conic. If it is tightend to strong, it may break the engine case !
Use some Loctite and tighten it just a bit.
Cheers, Michael

Hi Beachcomber,
I have heard of some tests with the exhaust cam as inlet cam but this doesn’t seem to work very well.
You can get the camshafts modified by Megacycle in the USA.
I have ridden this Twin with these cams, 950 cm³, Mikuni 34mm flat slide carbs and a 2-in-1-exhaust with Supertrapp silencer.Incredible !

Hi Hardride,
there are exchange mufflers from a company called “SITO”.
Style is more or less stock, sound as well. You may find some at ebay. There are other mufflers offered by a german wholesaler called Louis, http://www.louis.de
but shipping cost to you may be exorbitant.
I may help buying them locally and ship them to you, but this will add…[Read more] -

Found the video taken by my friend Richi.
It took exactly five minutes for us all to pass his position.
You can see me with Belstaff and jet helmet at 1:37 😉
At 2:16 you can see the guy with the 26″-wheeled bike (Harley?)
At 2:37 a crash could be avoided with effort. It was a guest from our MDMC…[Read more]

Of course there where other Twins present.
Even ones with strange cylinder angle and 26″ wheels front and rear 😉
Engine sounds awesome !
He was riding approx. 15 km / 10 miles at next position to me.Cheers, Michael

Hi Lonesome Twins,
I was the only Z750Twin attending the Munich ride amongst approx. 400(!) attendees.
Other “Twintreiber” joined other rides 😉
Well, the weather turned out to be fantastic !
A bit fresh in the morning, but sunshine all the day, just some decorative clouds in the sky. Finally we ended with a group picture at the famous…[Read more]

Hi Rich,
I have seen this looking device once now!
It is a steel rope, has a mushroom-shaped head, can be pulled out from the frame and fits into a lock that is mounted at the right hand side, below the pillion seat. There is a (unused) lug with two holes in it to allow mounting of the lock.To bad I didn’t take any pics of that.
Hope to meet…[Read more] -

Have a trailer this weekend and moved the Twin to our private “bike-building-garage” to get the recessed rear frame welded on in new position.
We meet there every Friday evening.
Will be done within the next few weeks.

Hi Andy,
thank you for explaining that to me 😉
Well, it is a 750 ccm motorbike.
In the 1970s that was a “Bigbike”.
That suits me fine 😉Looking forward to shape the seat plate to match my “design” concept.
Then moving forward to get the right upholstery and seat cover done.Front end with headlight and it’s holders plus instruments (speed…[Read more]

Managed to adopt the cut-off tail end to slide onto the rear frame tubes. Can adjust the depth of the tail light to desired position.
Already modified rear plastic fairing got a further cut out at the inside to allow the new position of the tail light.
Got a modern front master brake cylinder (5/8″) with external fluid container.
It is a large…[Read more] -

Hi AtLarge,
after some nice late summer days with up to 30°C (86°F), yesterday the autumn started in southern Germany (Munich).
Heavy rain showers with danger of flooding in some areas. Official bad weather warnings applied. It shouldn’t be that bad next Sunday, but weather forecast states it will be cloudy with chance of rain at 15 to 18°C (5…[Read more]
