  • Hi TJ,

I would use the fuel tank of an LTD / CSR.
It fits to the B-frame with only minor adjustments at the rear, middle holder / pin.
Either enlarge the hole to a slot in the frame or reduce the size of the pin at the fuel tank.
Can be secured by a small hole in that pin and a cotter pin through it. Large washer in between.

    It has small…[Read more]

  • Hi Jett,

welcome to the Lonesome Twins !

That is an awesome chopper that you have built.

    You have astonished me.
It would be nearly impossible to get it legal on the road here in Germany were I live.

Looking forward to see more pics of your Twins and have a lot of fun riding them 😉

    Cheers, Michael

    Hi Jett

There have been various Big Bore projects, some of which have been successful. 865cc has been achieved here in the UK and also Germany I believe.

Michael from Germany German 750 twin Website has been working on a 920cc? big bore. I am sure he will be along soon to comment.

I also believe someone attempted over 1000cc but this took quite…[Read more]

    Hi Kenny,

the BS34 carbs description sounds good so far.
One issue may be that the idle srew is set to open the butterfly valves to much.
Try starting with reduced opening / lower idle speed.

You had the ignition rotor apart, which was necessary, for sure. But it is possible to mount it back by 180° turned. You still have ignition sparks as…[Read more]

  • Hi TJ,

    that looks awesome !

But I can not recognise where the exhaust exhaust of the turbo is?

The intake of the exhaust gas from the engine has a wide flange into the turbo.

Would it be feasable to route two separate downtubes in parallel into the flange ?

Of course not ideal for the exhaust flow, but it will pressurise the intake “rotor”…[Read more]

  • AtLarge has received his boots !

Parcel to KK was returned and I have to send it again. Was a failure in postage amount, but I was in a post office to verify correct postage amount.
    That was wrong !
Will check the Internet to find correct postage to UK 😉

    Hi Lonesomes,

here some pics of my fully modified Z750B1:

Well, more than 5 pics possible.

Is there a limit for pic file size and number of pics per thread ?
    Cheers, Michael

  • Hey ho,

    you Lonesomes.

    This is a test.

    UPDATE

The new website is quite time consuming but going together well.

I am hoping we will be able to launch it in the next couple of weeks.

  • Hi TJ,

I am glad to support such a unique project and love to see it and you, of course, at Glemseck 101 this year !

It should work with the oil return.
I can only see the diameter size as an issue. As there are 750 cm³ displacement this amount of air needs to go to the catch can without giving to much pressure to the oil return of the…[Read more]

  • Hi TJ,

haha, the dual spark plug solutions look very similar to each other 😉

Martin is using the stock LTD pointless ignition with two dual ignition coils.
These must have a resistance of 2,2 to max. 3 Ohms, as recommended for electronic ignitions. Do not(!) use the stock ignition coils of the B-models. Their coils are made for breaker…[Read more]

  • Ah, here a pic of Martin’s dual spark plug head with 2x NGK B-thread size:

  • Hi TJ,

if that ignition is intended for use on the crankshaft or to rotate with crankshaft speed, it shouldn’t be a problem to use it.

Just use the pickup intended to “spark” either cylinders 1+4 or the “other” ones, 2+3. You may even remove the odd sensor.

Finally it is just the same ignition as used with a single cylinder engine but has a…[Read more]

    Hi Andy,

that hotel is a small one, so no chance with that.
The campground is limited, but last year arriving at Saturday early afternoon gave us the last few available camp spaces.

The earlier we get there, the more likely we can select one of the spaces.

Interestingly the camp ground and the “road of clubs” is parallel to each other, but has…[Read more]

    Hi KK,

    good to know that !

I use the BS34 on my B and they work fine.

May post a pic of the “reduced” choke knob.

    Hi Lonesomes,

I will be your local hero in Germany and will support KK and all of you as much as I can.

  • Michael replied to the topic Doh!!! in the forum Progress Reports 9 years, 1 month ago

Ahh, in regards to a previous posted pic.

The upper pair are the intake boots of a BS38 carb (stock with the B models), the lower shown pair seems to be the intake boots for the BS34 carbs (stock with LTD models)

Carbs and boots must match and in general both work fine with our Twins.

    I like the BS34 more 😉
    Less complicated !
