The rear light and it’s holder is welded to the frame in new position.
Looks good.Engine is out of the frame and is already blasted with dry ice (carbon dioxid snow?).
The result is pretty awesome and the cost was below 100,- Euros.Don’t have good photos on hand, just one of the separate blasted sprocket cover.
I am sure you know, how the…[Read more] -

Thank you for educating me.
I have to admit, that I haven’t seen or eaten a Crumpet in my live yet !
Well, I have to go to Yorkshire to meet up with you and get invited to eat a Crumpet and have a brew 😉
So long,

Single carb conversion is/was often done with the Z400/Z440Twins.
Haven’t seen it with a Z750Twin. -

I can’t find a proper translation for crumpets.
Pics at Google show a smaller, big one (which I don’t know) and larger, flat ones like Crepes.

Hi Kenny,
the complete engine is 78 kg !
Remove the valve cover first, that eases the job.
Having the bike on side stand is not too bad, as you have to remove the engine sideways to the right.
Fix the chassis against rolling away. (Strap on hand brake, etc.)Cover the right hand, lower frame tube prior to engine removal with cloth to avoid…[Read more]

Hi Phil,
I have used the wheels, brakes, front fork and swing arm of exactly that model (Z750GP, 1982) to built my caferacer based on a B1 (1976) frame.
Fits perfectly.Cheers, Michael

For sure the two outlet pipes in the “bell” are mounted this (stock) way to achieve a spin of gas within the bell.
If you use an external breather bowl, direction of outlets can be changed to streamline the gases into the bowl.Remember, we are talking about 750 cm³ to displace air out of the crankcase with each rev of the crankshaft. And to…[Read more]

Hi Beachcomber,
I would answer that with “Yes”.
That seems to be the target when Kawa decided to use that “bell” shaped collector.
I never came accross a filled “bell”. Everytime I remove one, it is more or less clean and dry inside, so there must be a drain opening.
For sure it is possible to route the pipes into an external breather.

After we went more than 7.000 km to and in Norway and the drive chain broke on the very last stage, approx. 250 km away from home, I had to sort the mess out !
Bike has the dirt of 7.000km on it !
After removal of clutch cover it was possible to hammer out the broken clutch pushrod.
The broken cover of the drive shaft is replaced and now it is…[Read more] -

Hi Kaye,
Peter from Germany is producing down pipes from stainless steel.
It is for a 2-in-2 exhaust layout without connection pipe.
Unpolished for 270,- Euros,
polished around 450,- Euros.I expect he has some in stock or can produce them within a few weeks.
Cheers, Michael
Pic shows the unpolished version.
