It’s a crying shame, but I have to have a go at trying to save this tank.. So I’ve had to start from scratch. Rubbed it down and Base coated it with an isolator primer! 🙁

For information this test should be done with the bike warmed up, Both spark plugs removed, and the bike turned over on the starter with the throttle fully open.

Clutch side cover is now welded. It had a crack on the part where the rod goes through the case..
All back on and seems to be working. Oil change done using SE 20/50 classic vehicle oil. New oil filter fitted, and the oil pressure switch is all rewired and working now! 🙂
The bike seems a little smokey? Could be carb set up? I’m not sure?

Sorry… I’ve been busying myself with Magpie.
Her bike is coming together now.. So much so Maggie is booked in for MOT next weekend! So we only have this coming weekend to get all jobs dome!
Sam wants both 750 Twins on the road for our week off on the 22nd August, we are hoping to get out to give both bikes a run while we are off! 😉 -

Hey mate how’s it going?
I have to say I really like the Twin in Green!.. (Oh my God!! Don’t tell the Kaptin!) 🙁
Don’t know what it is but your bike has quite a stance on her… Are they standard bars…? It looks mean as Fook! 🙂 -

Well done Buddy…. No problem with the help in the garage… For once it was you who needed your arse kicking! 🙂
Swing arm on your B is looking good, if you got your brackets and caliper looking the same your bike will look bob on.
Now put the Fag out! Ditch the Brew and get Cracking OB1.. 😉 -

Well the problems keep on Rolling.. 🙁
I’ve managed to rub all the old lacquer off…my bloody fingers are killing!!
Part of the problem is that where I have had to rub born near edges, yhe paint has gone back to metal in some places. So I’ve have to put down some primer to give the new paint a key to stick to.Problem is that even though I have…[Read more]

This is where in back down to.
I have had to remove all the pinstriping, and start to sand all the lacquer back off!!
It is a long hard and soul destroying process! 🙁But if I want to get any kind of decent finish on the tank… I’m afraid it has to be done!

Ok… Things are sent to test us..
I had got to the stage of pinstriping the tank… But I tried to use a Petrol Resistant Lacquer. Is isn’t any good! It is so thick it clogged the spray nozzle up not even half way through the tin.. And it is a product that you can not respray over as it will react!! -

And it isn’t too bad from the side.
By the time I get the pinstripes on and the Tank Badges in place. I’m hoping that it will look good enough. 😉
