Well after quite some time I have finally got around to completing my B1 back to Original
I got told by one of our German Friends that not to do this would be a Crime!

So after honouring his views it would be appreciated Michael if you could pass on that this has been done.
It was the owner of the other Cafe Racer at the Meet in Belgium.
Sorry I can’t remember his name? It may have been Peter.?

Managed to get my tank pinstriped and lacquered.
I must say I’m pretty happy with the results. And with it being twopack it shouldn’t react with petrol if I drip it!!

Oh well this is my last chance highway,
This is the last can of the paint I have use for my bike. The supplier can’t get any more of it. So I hope and pray this one doesn’t mess up!

Well KK came over, we have put some Fine Tuning exercises in on my B1!

First we took the coils off and lifted the rocker cover. We checked the shims
One was out, so it got changed. We also checked the valve timing and found it not quite right… So changes were made until KK was happy. We also checked and fine tuned the ignition timing.
Then we turned our attention to the carbs as mine has a different set on now from what I went to Belgium on, because Maggie stole that set and refused to give them back.
We cleaned and made various changes, with a possible Plug Breaking down diagnosed as well.. The last run of the day felt promising! So a Massive Thank You to KK for yet more of his time!

I’m off work tomorrow so I’m hoping to get out and give the bike a good run to see if everything is indeed now working as it should!

    Here’s Hoping! 😉

It would be a shame to close buddy, but I understand where your coming from.
I very rarely go on a computer these days everything is done on my phone.
It is a little harder to navigate using a phone.. And unfortunately phone cameras are so high quality these days that the photos they produce are to big to upload. I’ve found putting my camera on manual setting and changing the pixels to the lowest settings let’s me upload photos..
But it is possible, but it would be worth doing it if everyone who looked at the site actually posted something! anything! Just to add some content change.

It’s a crying shame, but I have to have a go at trying to save this tank.. So I’ve had to start from scratch. Rubbed it down and Base coated it with an isolator primer! 🙁

For information this test should be done with the bike warmed up, Both spark plugs removed, and the bike turned over on the starter with the throttle fully open.

Update on compression test.. Both cylinders reading 140psi
    Standard is 156 from New.

Service limit is 114psi or if more than 14psi reading between each cylinder.

    All looks good on Maggie!

Clutch side cover is now welded. It had a crack on the part where the rod goes through the case..
All back on and seems to be working. Oil change done using SE 20/50 classic vehicle oil. New oil filter fitted, and the oil pressure switch is all rewired and working now! 🙂
The bike seems a little smokey? Could be carb set up? I’m not sure?
KK is going to come over and do a color tune and carb balance.
I’ll also do a quick compression test.

Sorry… I’ve been busying myself with Magpie.
Her bike is coming together now.. So much so Maggie is booked in for MOT next weekend! So we only have this coming weekend to get all jobs dome!
Sam wants both 750 Twins on the road for our week off on the 22nd August, we are hoping to get out to give both bikes a run while we are off! 😉
