Hi guys,
I prefer to remove the top cover.
That allows a little bit more space between engine and frame.I know the technique of laying a bike on the side (our Twins need to lay right side down) and lift the frame off the engine but never did it myself.
The first and most critical area is the lower rear engine mounting. Engine needs to slide in…[Read more]

Hi KK,
thank you for the hint.
I didn’t see that before, no idea why ?
After some time of waiting, large pics showed up, the formatting of the forum page was triple the width it typically has.
After all the large pics where loaded, it was reduced to small size and I can click on them.Hi AtLarge,
please treat my comment as useless.
Sorry for that…[Read more] -

Hi AtLarge,
is there a DGR in the US as well ?
You may organize it for Iowa πThe guys from DGR organisation commitee are very helpful with that.
Pardon, not my intention to force you to do anything, just an idea to spread the message and have some fun π
Cheers, Michael

Ah no worries.
I didn’t realise you weren’t using a twin front end.
Will we be seeing some build pictures soon that resemble a bike?

Hi Kaye,
the Mustang Tank may be a good alternative.
It fit’s the rest of the design πDoes it fit to the frame ?

Hi Mike,
the idea of a bobbered Z1000LTD sounds cool !
Please keep us updated on your progress with that.
Grab Lonesome’s crankshaft and everything will be ok π
It will be a “Double Twin”.What are the mentioned Twins you have ?
All Kawa Z750Twins ?Despite all our Z750Twins we have a Honda VFR750F (RC36) and a Yamaha YZF600R “Thundercat”…[Read more]

Thank you, Andy !
Worked on this bike until Sunday, 3:30am, which means it was a long Saturday night !
All relevant things where checked and made good. We have found a lot of failures and loose screws, so we had to check nearly everything.
Engine started when we bought it and it started late Saturday night. Just engine revving, no riding.…[Read more]

Hi Kaye,
I did some picture editing with my limited capabilities, but maybe it gives you an idea how it may look like this way:
Upper edge of side cover matches the form of the seat and is supported by fat black line with fine white stripes, same or similar as you already have it on the tank π
These lines hit upper mount of rear shocks and…[Read more]
