I’m shortly gonna start building a bobber. What kind of money are you thinking? I am looking for a K engine (belt drive) for the bobber but they are hard to come by over here. This could get me through till I find one if the price is right plus it would also be a bit of the lonesome legend . . . .

It sounds very sweet and is a good buy for someone. Wrong type for me or I would be in.

He got the manifold with the bike when he bought it. It is a great idea and I hope to do the same style with my bobber. I am looking into getting a manifold made. I will keep you all posted.

Saw this little baby for the first time tonight. He has finally got her running pretty sweet with the single carb. I took her for a run round the block (well a tadge more lol) and it was such fun. Most people take the engine out through choice. IE they are doing the bike up and painting the engine or powder coating the frame. It is very rare to hear of an engine being removed because of mechanical breakdown. They are very over engineered in that department so do not tend to wear out. Interesting concept.

It’s like philpass says. Both pistons go up and down together so there are counterbalance weights and chains fitted to compensate for the forces. This is one of the reasons why the bike/engine is so heavy.

Yes Michael you are right. I did ask myself that question but I answered it wrong. I also wondered with the paint and stripes.

That’s nice cruising at 85/90. How was the vibration? My CSR isn’t to bad at that speed

Because of the way you describe your problem and the work you have done my thoughts are to the left hand float which appears to not be shutting the fuel supply off. That could be 2 things;

1. The float valve isn’t doing it’s job

2. The float level is wrong

My money is on float level

Hey Keith that bike belongs to chrislwg one of our members. He has done some amazing mods to it. The Big Bore I believe is 865. He has also done twin spark plugs, reversed his foot pegs to give more relaxed riding position and fitted an oil cooler amongst other things.
