Thank you, Andy !
Worked on this bike until Sunday, 3:30am, which means it was a long Saturday night !
All relevant things where checked and made good. We have found a lot of failures and loose screws, so we had to check nearly everything.
Engine started when we bought it and it started late Saturday night. Just engine revving, no riding.…[Read more]

Hi there,
we are just back from our holidays 😉
Will work on this bike over the next few weeks to get it up and running and TÜV/MOTed.
Some special things to do like modifying the upper fairing and cockpit carrier.
Needs new tires and more.We will see but I am willing to spend some money to see my son riding his first bike in operational and…[Read more]

Mirrors below the handle bar are quite popular with Caferacers and other modified bikes.
Here some pics:Cheers, Michael

Hi Kaye,
I did some picture editing with my limited capabilities, but maybe it gives you an idea how it may look like this way:
Upper edge of side cover matches the form of the seat and is supported by fat black line with fine white stripes, same or similar as you already have it on the tank 😉
These lines hit upper mount of rear shocks and…[Read more]

Hi galZ and boyZ,
the german Z750Twin meeting in 2016 will be different than the other ones, at least from my perspective 😉
I have the fixed idea to go to Norway next year to celebrate my 50th birthday with 24h of sunlight !
This means that I have to be above the northern polar circle and the Lofoten is my aim/goal !?!As my birthday is 20th…[Read more]

Hi Lonesome,
that’s a word and you and the fellow Lonesomes are invited 😉
We will announce date and location for the next Twin Treffen in 2016 by end of 2015 at the latest.
We had the discussion about how many Twins attended this 2015 meeting and I was told that there were 34 Twins in total.
Not all of them present for the group picture on…[Read more] -

Just for your inspiration.
It is for the small Yamaha Twins.A minimum of cables to be road legal in Germany for bikes before 1978.
I like this simple schematic 😉

Hi KK,
I wouldn’t prefer the width either, but it was necessary.
Cases sit adjacent to the rear shocks now, and not behind as it was originally ment.
As the rear frame is shortened, there is nothing left to fix the carrier to in the back.A small clearance between cases and rear shocks is needed, to avoid damage.
I can’t even get my…[Read more] -

Nicely mounted but a little wide for me. I would like them tucked in more.
Looks great though. Well done.

Just saw that there are no stock screws used. Well, what a surprise 😉 -

Except the front mudguard everything looks to be stock. Mileage is 77.800 km. Electrics / wiring harness are not modified.
Rear tire Conti TKC80 is “M+S”-marked so road legal with lower speed index and is the one that was intended for use with the Dirtbike. As the rear tire and tube of this B2 was perforated, I decided to mount that stuff here.…[Read more]

Hi Kaye,
I like the two mufflers on one side.
How did you route the downtubes to achieve that ?
Cheers, Michael -
Michael replied to the topic Flat Tracker in the forum Progress Reports 10 years, 5 months ago
As a Tottenham supporter I am unable to get any joy from ‘Dark Pink’ colours. That word (DER backwards) is banned in my house.
I must be honest though with the painted engine it is far to much in my opinion.

Hi Lonesome,
a drum brake in the rear of a B-model can be achieved by using the rear wheel and parts of (early) Z650s.
Gunnar has done it before and here are the pics of his bike:
http://www.z750twin.de/gunnar's_b.htmI will meet him at this years Z750Twin meeting in 3 and a half weeks. May ask him for details of what he has done.
Cheers, Michael
