😳 It was a Little inconvenient Stalling every time I came to a Stop! 😡 especially when I didn’t have my Electric start! and had to kick start her every time! 😮

The Problem is …. When I stop there is a Very Small amount of clutch drag when I have the clutch lever pulled in.
It is hardly even noticeable, and I can hold the bike just with my feet on the floor! But its just enough to slow the engine enough to stall! 😕

So I now need to get my EASILY! accessible tools out of my easily accessible tool roll! and adjust the clutch, to eliminate yet another little problem.

Thus giving me another little bit of knowledge and a further understanding of the little qwerks
that I can expect from this old Girl! That could be easily fixed at the road side. As Long as I can get to my tools! 😀

    :hammer: Order! Order!! :hammer:

Don’t you Start as Well! 😮

The Tool Roll is Staying for at least the duration of the Trip!

I have already found a situation where it will be handy having my tools available for a Roadside Fix! 🙂

I have had a problem with the Bike seeming to stall when it had warmed up! and I came to a stop at traffic lights or a junction! 😕

The Bike would only do it when it was being used. If I had it on the driveway at home it would Idle fine for as long as you would let it!

    Thanks for that Dougyt.

All these little worries I can eliminate, will allow me to enjoy the bike instead of worrying if there are other problems that may give me grief further down the line!

    I am Not sure Yet?

But We think we may have sorted my problem that sounded very similar to yours?

Look at my thread in How to Fix it, Titled “Battery?/Charging Problem?

    I hope this helps you.

Let us know When you get around to getting some time to look at your Twin.

    Good Luck.

It did say in the B1 Book that you had to disconnect the 9 pin plug inside the headlight so that there would be no load on the charging system! But to start the bike You had to unplug the 3 pin plug of the Regulator (Green Brown & Black wires) and Bridge the Brown and Green pins with a wire.

    Warning!!!

    A) DO NOT LET THE BIKE REV OVER 2000 RPM…This may cause Damage!

    B) DO NOT USE THE ELECTRIC STARTER!
    KICK START ONLY.

    I would study a B1 Manual.

Well I think she is looking spot on! 🙂

Even with the Ugly tool roll on the front! (God I have taken some Grief off KK for this tool roll) 😳

But I say it is a sensible addition, because when I am fully loaded! There is no point having tools under the seat! I would have to unload the whole bike just to nip a loose nut! 😕

    Somthing like this?

Meter set to Amps on 20 same as I would use for Volts in the Volt setting?

    And No Ignition turned on.

Now it has been a few hours since The bike was put away I have checked the volt reading again and its now reading 12.96 volts
This could be expected after the bike has rested and the battery plates have settled down to a more stable reading.
I’ll do one more reading before I lock the garage up later, Just to make sure I don’t have a drain somewhere?

After we had swapped it for a spare one Andy had, we checked the voltage reading across the battery with the engine off! We had 12.5v
We then started the engine and got what we wanted! An increase in the reading across the battery! It was giving us 13.5-14v 😀 😀

So this was looking good! I took a reading of 12.5 volts on the battery just before I did the 15 mile return journey home.
Once I had got home, and put the bike away! I had a brew
Just to let the bike rest before taking a new volt reading from the battery to see if I had put charge into the battery or lost any more!? 😕

    13.01 Volts 😀

So it had indeed put charge into the battery! 🙂 🙂 🙂

I am a very Happy Bunny!

I Just have to keep an eye on it now and make sure I dont have any underlying problem that made my component fail in the first place!

Well I took a reading And rode 15 miles! The bike made the ride without any problems!
But I did loose charge about 1 volt?

We faffed about doing checks on voltage reading with Dougyt talking KK through things on the phone!
And still struggled to get a correct reading!

We ended up swapping out this part!
    The Regulator.
This sits behind the electrical mounting plate behind the left hand side panel
It has a 3 pin connector block with a Brown Green & Black wire.

I have been having battery/charging problems!! (But I will leave that for the Fix It section!

What I did get done is fit some engine bars! Well once Andy found a shorter bolt!! 🙂

    Here is the good Bit!!!

There are people out there Paying Google to make sure there website is Top of the list on search engines! 😡

What I had done is pay a firm an admin fee to print the form out and send it to me! It just so happens there fee is exactly the same as the renewal fee! £72.50
Just so you think it’s your Passport you are paying for!!!

I had to pay the Guy at the Passport Office again!!
He said as fast as the government have them removed another one crops up!
They are doing the same thing with DVLA with Driving Licenses!

So Now my Passport has cost me £145 😕 😮 😥
