I am now looking at my wiring

I think I have an earth problem somewhere?

I have checked the Starter Button with the buzzer on my multimeter and it buzzes on each press!
I have got power to the switch gear via the 4pin connector Brown in from the loom and up to the switch gear via a white cable!

I have also noticed that my rectifier on the B1 Wiring diagram shows the Negative battery terminal off the battery to the frame and then the black off the Rectifier going to the Negative on the battery via the Black & Yellow lead which also links in turn to the frame!
I think I have a problem with this Black earth some how?

Ok I have swapped the Starter motor for a spare that Andy had, and that seems to be ok now (If I bypass the Starter Button and put a positive straight to the Starter via a jump lead)

I still have a wiring issue with the starter circuit?

But after checking and cleaning all the bits I could under the Generator cover I have built it back up.

I did put Medium Lock Tight on the bolt that holds the flywheel on and tightens it up as much as I could!

And I put the side cover back on using a New gasket bought from Zpower just down the road from me. (Note in the photo it has the small square block bit missing now! It’s a superseded type)

Well I can say It is looking Good Guys.

I Went and borrowed some bits off KK earlier, for fixing my starter motor tomorrow!

And I got a Sneaky Peak at Andy’s handy work!

Arr Sorry getting the wrong end of the stick?
Tomorrow I’m going to swap the starter motor over with a fully Working unit! So that shouldn’t take to long and then I will check the block connectors to make sure they are clean?

So this is the wiring diagram I need for mine.

By the look of it I have a wire that goes to the neutral switch that hooks into the charging system.

Both of which are not working on my bike.

Ok I have tried that Michael, and it seems to work as it should. Spins one way and locks up the opposite way.
I have run my fingers over the face of the large sprocket where the rollers grab the surface and this is in good condition. No major dents or ridges!

But I took both the large and small cogs off complete with the chain.
And tried to turn the splined shaft of the starter motor where the small cog sits on. And I could turn this with minimal resistance both ways just between my figure and thumb.
So Stripping the Starter motor is going to be my next job, Or if I have a spare starter on a spare engine just swapping it out?
Well that’s my job for Wednesday now!

But What Now? It seems that the Rollers are there and they are all free and moving! ? 😕

Alas I don’t have one of those! But maybe Santa could bring me one for Christmas Next Year!

I will try and only use a propper gasket But I will keep the tube for emergency fixes only 🙂

I did notice a little scoring on the inside of the flywheel bit? Is this ok or will it have damaged anything?

Oh and thw Battery looks a lot healthier that it did yesterday 🙂

The Service manual says I need a special tool to lock the flywheel? I carnt remember how Andy did it? & it looks different to his! 😕

BONUS! On my Owner’s Manual & Rings though!
The Manual is off a B4 but hey beggars carnt be choosers! and I recon most of the info in there will be roughly the same? 😉
