TangoParticipantThanks Michael
As I know nothing about electrics That is a reassurance to know you wouldn’t worry about it! 🙂
But I hope I’ve sorted it anyway.
TangoParticipantWiring diagram but a bit bigger!
Nope…it is too big to upload any bigger.
Ill Try This Photo of the switch gear wiring, so its a little easier to see the part I’m dealing with.
TangoParticipantWiring diagram
TangoParticipantOk I have not been able to do much over the weekend as I was working Saturday morning, and it was My wife’s Birthday and my eldest sons 18th on Sunday (Yes Both on the same day) Ha Ha what were the chances of her having her 1st born on her birthday!
Anyway as you can imagine I was tied up all Sunday, I had a day off work today but I had to take her shopping!
But Anyway Enough of the excuses! I did get an hour in the garage when I got back. I tested the battery after it sitting for 2 or 3 days & it was reading 12.7 volts.
I did test my starter button I found that the Brown out of the main loom is ignition live so that supplies power when I turn the ignition on. there is a yellow and red wire that then turns live and goes to the Coil. The black wire to the starter solenoid turns live when I press the button in.
(This is the wire in the main loom I need to bridge)
But I also found that when the starter button was Not! pressed the black wire had 0.01 volt coming down it!
I don’t know if this would cause any problems?
But I seem to have sorted that by stripping the whole switch gear down! I think the spring that pushes the starter button back out, was slightly touching the yellow and red wire?
I’ve put it all back together and it seems fine now?
So I’m back to having to bridge the Black wire at weekend, and hopefully fixing my electric start! And then building everything back up so I can then look at this charging problem!
TangoParticipantI’m Having the same thing So I thought I may have a problem My Battery also shows no increase on a volt meter while the bike is running?
I take it we should have?
Can anyone test there bike to confirm?
TangoParticipantI have some spares including points and condenders
So If you need anything before yours arrive let me know?
Maybe I could get some over to you a little quicker?
TangoParticipantIm hoping not to go that way Michael.
It was just a question I wondered about? And it could be handy to know if you have yours go?
TangoParticipantHas it ever run Beef?
TangoParticipant3 Phase Reg/Rec
TangoParticipantJust a quick ask for you Gurus out there.
A B1 and B2 both have 3 Phase electrics …… and the B3-4 LTD & CSR all 2 Phase electrics
The 2 phase electrics had a Combined Regulator and Rectifier the finned type that’s more common these days.
Now Kawasaki never made a specific component line Rectifiers
So my Question is Can I fit a combined unit off another bike as long as it has 3 Phase electrics?
Such as the Honda CB250N/400N Superdream?

TangoParticipantSorry My Details?
TangoParticipantOk When I click on your name to PM you KK M details come up?
TangoParticipantBeef Dont sell it mate!
I know it’s disheartening mate! I’ve been through it!
Thought I’d cracked it and had a fully working bike! But now it’s back in my garage in pieces with all it’s wiring hanging out!
But with the Help on here I know I will get it running again!
And when I do I’ll come up to yours and we can copy my wiring as it should in principal be the same with the same type of reg/rec as yours!
Has it ever run since you have had it?
TangoParticipantThanks for you Wiring Diagram reading skills last night Andy. I stayed up a bit past bed time for me on earlys, but Hey we got there Even with me driving the multimeter & you on the phone! LoL
But I made it into work Early worrying that I’d be late!? What’s that all about?
So once I’ve routed a new black wire, lets hope we can sort my charging issue?
