Hi Patrick,

if that bolt is a 12mm one as used in B3 and later engines (G, M, S, Y, K models), the value is correct (130 Nm).

If the bolt is a 10mm one as used in the B1 and B2 engines only, the value is 75 Nm !

Every few years I am doing the Sella ronda.
Parts of it are in your tour, Arabba is one.

I’ve heard that there are some limitations for motorbikes on that Sella ronda.
(Passo Sella, Passo Pordoi, Passo Campolongo and Passo Gardena)
Have you found a sign describing that ?

there are some videos available that shows the track “Spreewaldring” and the event “Built not bought”.

First video is a training session on a Laverda 1000, 3 cylinder. The driver uses about the same rev range and shifting points as I use them. Feels like I am on the track 😉

That is a great idea. I didn’t know they did heat shrink that big. Just for information you can still get these parts new. There are some available here in the UK and also one of the Germans has manufactured. That being said it’s a great idea and can probably be used on other things too.

The petcock is vacuum operated. When the tap is set to ON or RES and the engine is running a vacuum is created by the carbs via pipes from the petcock which opens a diaphragm and lets the fuel flow. When the petcock is in PRI position this bypasses the need for the vacuum.

A number of things could cause the issue. It could be mixtures not set right, blocked or incorrect jets, incorrect float levels or carb balancing for starters.

Have you removed and cleaned the carbs?

My apologise for such a late reply but I have been away.

This does look like you are burning to much fuel which could be several reasons, all relating to the carbs.

The first thing I would check is that the choke is working correctly. A choke stuck on could cause this. Secondly I would check the fuel mixtures are correct.

I am loving the look Michael but I must be honest. That seat does not look very bum friendly . . .

Well, the “Vienna” is ready to race !

Within two days we restored an old pocket bike. The new silencer is in the middle,  the rear fairing looks a bit like the one from “Vienna”. Driven by a sudden idea we gave it the same color scheme as the Vienna already has. That is fun 😉

Hi guys,

i’ve got the parts back from the painter 😉

Fiddled the old front fork, clip-ons and front wheel in and pushed the “Hubertus” into daylight.

A lot of work left to do, but it is worth it 😉
